The aim is to connect participants to the local landscape through storytelling and engaging outdoor experiences. During this hike, participants will discover the significance of healthy headwaters and watersheds while traversing a breathtaking alpine setting.
The tour commences with a brief 2-kilometer hike, ascending to the turquoise waters of Elbow Lake. After taking in the scenery, the group will proceed up the Rae Glacier valley, a primeval landscape sculpted by ancient ice and water. The hike continues through the moraines to the final viewpoint of the Rae Glacier, the source of the Elbow River.
This round-trip hike covers 8.37 km with an elevation gain of 466 meters. A moderate level of fitness is necessary. The Elbow Lake area is a unique destination that rewards effort and determination!
