Golden Eagles pass through Kananaskis Country twice annually, once in the spring as they journey north to their breeding areas, and again in the fall as they migrate south. Wasootch Ridge offers an ideal vantage point to observe these magnificent birds. For countless generations, a remarkable migration has unfolded in the skies above the Rocky Mountains. Twice a year, the Golden Eagle migration graces the front ranges, following an 11,000-year-old path from their northern breeding grounds to their southern winter habitats. Join The Path Less Taken for a professionally guided interpretive hike that explores this incredible migration while traveling at the cruising altitude of a Golden Eagle.

This 7.3 km day hike begins with a steep climb, leading to the rolling ridge line of Wasootch. The trail features approximately 212 meters of elevation gain and requires a moderate level of fitness. Participants will be provided with hiking spikes and a pole if necessary.
