Best Excursion and Guide ever! - We had an amazing experience with Rio Secreto. Our guide was Tianara and she was genuinely the greatest guide we’ve had on an excursion ever. She was kind, friendly and very knowledgeable. She made sure everyone was safe and comfortable, kept us in the loop with plans and made sure we had the best time. I’d do any excursion with her again- even so, the caves were a magical and special experience, I would go back in a heartbeat. We combined it with Coba, had an amazing buffet in between and got to experience the ruins on bicycles. The caves are like nothing we’ve experienced before, the water was perfect and the experience will last a lifetime.
I can’t think Tianara enough, and would recommend her and the Rio Secreto + Coba tour to anyone I know going to the Yucutan. Thank you for the most amazing experience!

Great experience and very enjoyable. - Enjoyed it all. All equipment needed provided with no extra cost. Our guide spoke English well and was patient, not rushing anyone. After lunch our drive to Coba was a little bit more urgent, but we got there safely and did the climb and saw the rest. The trip back was very traffic heavy which made being in the van a long time and a little uncomfortable, but there was only 9 of us so a van was appropriate.

Best excursion ever. - This was by far the best excursion that we have been to in the ten years that we’ve been going to Mexico.
Fernando and Shirley were simply the best, so passionate about preserving the ecosystem. Wonderful tour guide.

From the height of Coba to the fascinating underground of Rio Secreto - do this tour! - This is an all day adventure going from the heights of the Nora’s Mul pyramid in Coba to the underground amazing world of Rio Secreto. From pickup to drop off was 10 hours, so be prepared as it’s 1.5 hours each way to Coba, and then takes time for dropping off at various locations. Well worth it though as it was an amazing day!
It wasn’t mentioned anywhere that in Coba you go from site to site (about 2 km total) on bicycles, although there is also an option to rent a bike buggy and get taken from place to place. The bikes worked fine for the short distance. Amazing to be able to go up the 140 steps to the top of the pyramid - the steps are quite deep so may be difficult for those with bad knees. Our guide, Jorge, was great and had good knowledge of Coba. Back to Rio Secreto for the buffet lunch which had a pretty good selection of hot & cold foods. Time to get changed into bathing suits & water shoes - absolutely recommend wearing the shortie wetsuit as well. Water shoes are available although we brought our own & helmets with head lamps & life vests (mandatory) and plastic walking poles (optional but very useful) were provided. It was a fairly long walk to the entrance, and once inside be prepared for walking on uneven rocks/ limestone, swimming in deeper sections & traversing through narrow or height restricted spaces. This is not a trip for anyone with mobility restrictions although the walking poles do help with balance & feeling for under water obstacles. It is absolutely amazing to be underground in a secret river with beautiful stalactite & stalagmite formations. They take great care to protect that environment & to ensure the safety of everyone. Floating in the water in the pitch black with the headlamps off was a beautiful experience. This was our 2nd time at Rio Secreto & it was just as enjoyable as the first time.
Jorge was an excellent guide with very good English & knowledge and it was evident that he loves his job. Highly recommend this tour!

From the heights of Coba to the underground of Rio Secreto - Action packed day of adventure from the heights of Coba to the depths of Rio Secreto. Great day and a fantastic variety to go from Coba to Rio Secreto. Jorge was a fabulous tour guide with good knowledge, excellent English and obviously loves his job. Be prepared for an active day of walking, cycling, climbing and under ground spelunking through uneven terrain. It was a memorable day for sure!

Cenote & Coba - We had an enjoyable day exploring a beautiful cenote and Coba ruins. Our guide Tiana was very knowledgeable in her history and we learned so much about the places we visited. We felt very rushed at our visit to Coba which was regretful. It was so fun riding bikes to the ruins but we were all pushed to hurry up. At one point our guide was so far ahead of the group she wasn'teven aware that another group member had crashed head on into a tree and fallen. Once reaching Coba you have a very small window of time to climb and return down. At the days end we were offered the photo package. There are only 25 photos from your day and when we opened it up the close up couples shots were of another couple in our group and not us. We found the photographer rushed each person as well and didn't take the time to get a good photo, ex. eyes closed , not in position yet, and then would say, come on..ok next! let's go! For this you are charged $100 US. This included their own gallery as well.Overall, the beauty of the country is undeniable and we had a great day .

Awesome excursion but one important note - The Rio Secreto - Coba trip was great. Our guide Diego was tremendous. The logistics all ran perfectly. One important note - you must be agile and sure/fitted to get to the Rio Secreto. They assured me I would be able to do it - and I could not. My son went ahead and enjoyed the experience but said there was no way I’d be able. He is a healthy 19 year old and even struggled at some points. Coba was awesome and there are rickshaws available with lovely drivers if you need mobility help. Overall, great trip, just go in eyes wide open if you have any sport of mobility issue.
