Great experience on the Annapurna Circuit! - My partner and I did a private trek on the Annapurna Circuit and had an amazing time. A huge thanks to our guide Ashut and our porter Tirtha—they were a fantastic team and took excellent care of us. Everything was handled very professionally, and we felt like we were in great hands the whole way. Ashut shared so much knowledge about Nepal and the local culture. He also monitored our health closely, ensuring we were well-prepared to make it over the Thorung La Pass safely. The food and accommodations were lovely, and our guide always made sure we got the best rooms available in the teahouses. All transport was perfectly organized and smooth. It was a wonderful, exciting trip and we’d definitely recommend trekking with these guys! We will definitly be back!

Fantastic experience, highly recommended and expert service throughout - My two sons (age 25 and 27) and I had the most unbelievable, unforgettable and amazing trek, led by our fantastic guide Bishnu, supported by porters Narayan and Suman. Booking was really easy, with flexibility of starting dates. Any changes to itinerary were always discussed and agreed, ensuring our satisfaction. Bishnu ensured our safety at all times and worked tirelessly to ensure we had everything we needed to stay well and complete the challenging Lake and Thorong Pass without any problems. We would definitely recommend using this company; everything was perfect.

ACT - I am very grateful for the help of our guide Hari, porter Shiva, and Samraz during this trip. We had a great time interacting like friends, and the whole experience was excellent. The scenery along the way was beautiful. When I felt unwell in the mountains, the guide took great care of me. Thank you also to my fellow travelers for looking after me. This trip was made possible by everyone's efforts; each and every one of you was indispensable.

A fantastic adventure made possible by a great tour operator - A big thank you to all Nepal Social Treks staff for providing me and my son with their precious support during Annapurna Circuit Trek, and for helping us realize our dream. Thanks to Basu for his efficient and professional organization, and for brilliantly solving the little problems that have come along; to the driver Dipendra, for his patience and skill in leading us through the difficult roads of Nepal; to Dhan Bahadur, our very strong fantastic carrier, without whose help we would not have made it to 5416 meters; and to Ngima Sherpa, our wonderful guide, who, with his gentle and quietly protective ways, was attentive to every detail and made sure that everything in our adventure went well. If you go trekking in Nepal go with Nepal Social Treks: they are just great!

Awesome Annapurna Trek - We were extremely happy with our choice of Nepal Social Trekking for the 12 Day Annapurna Circuit Trek. We were expecting a group, but in the end, it was just my wife and I and Guide Kamal with Porter Nabin. Kamal always seemed to get us the best rooms at the Tea Houses and his knowledge of the trek was outstanding. He assisted and monitored our water intake, food and oxygen stats every day over 3000m, so on the morning we set off for Thorung La pass, we did it with ease. No headaches or any other issues. Our Porter was always very obliging and together they made a great team. Flights back to Kathmandu and other admin didn’t seem any issue. We highly recommend the company

Super agency - Unfortunately with bad guide. - I booked the Annapurna Circuit Trek with Tilicho Lake at Nepal Social Treks. The e-mail votes and the booking went super competent and uncomplicated. Individual requests were perfectly met. So I wanted to do the Kushma Bungee Jump after the trek, which was organized including transfer. And when we came back from the trek two days earlier - for the following reasons - everything was organized first class. Bungee and flights were adjusted and I could choose whether I want to spend the two days in Pokhara or Kathmandu. The additional hotel costs were covered by the agency. So far I can't complain about Nepal Social Treks and would book them again immediately. But there is one serious negative point, unfortunately, and that is the guide. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this one to anyone. Quick remarks. I have already been to Everest Base Camp with Gokyo Lake with another agency and have done tours with guides at other destinations such as Kilimanjaro and Peru. And unfortunately, the current one was by far the worst. How I arrive at this assessment: 1. He didn't give me a briefing at the first meeting. Which then logically led to dissatisfaction later on through unclear principles.
Because at the first meal he told me - after the meal - that I have to pay for the soft drink myself, because only tea is included in the price.
I expected that, but it is still appropriate to explain this the first time.
The next day he suddenly told me - again after dinner - that I had to pay for my own tea.
As justification, he meant because only one tea a day is included in the price.
Then we got our hair together for the first time, because you really can't know that without explanation.
I've never heard of it, and it really doesn't make sense. Either one drink per meal or nothing.
What's a tea a day? Then load the drinks away completely. Approx. Having 50 cents a day included for drinks is bullshit. 2. On day 3 we should have visited the Monastery at Braga according to the tour schedule.
Unfortunately, it only occurred to me later that we simply passed it by. We would have had enough time, as we were usually at our destination shortly after noon. But the guide doesn't seem to have felt like it. 3. In some places where we slept, there were beautiful monesteries, stupas or temples to look at.
Unfortunately, the guide never pointed out to me what else you could possibly do alone in the afternoon.
I had the feeling that he didn't know it himself. It's just bad for a guide. 4. He thinks acclimatization is not necessary.
The acclimatisation day in Manang was the crowning glory.
Supposedly our daily destination of Ice Lake was not reachable due to too much snow and ice. OK.
But as an alternative he wanted to do a “hike” with me.
On my advice that we want to do acclimatization, he said that I am fit enough and don't need it.
In doing so, he has finally demonstrated his ineptitude. Because height adjustment has nothing to do with fitness.
For the hike the guide and porter left with me without backpack and water bottle.
So he wouldn't have had a band-aid or anything like that with him. Because of the stroll they took, they were 100 meters behind me after a few minutes.
When I asked again about the exact destination, it turned out that he wanted a stupa right at the exit of town, maybe 30 minutes away as a destination. (The day before, I came by alone on an afternoon walk.)
As a result, I released the guide for the day. I don't need a dachshund walking after me.
Later, I noticed that other guides were walking with their guests alternatively to a glacier.
Or they really broke up Ice Lake. If the road got worse, you could have turned around. After all, it’s about climbing up and not about the lake. But the guide didn't get that. 5. The night before Tilicho Lake it unfortunately snowed 30cm. The guide thought it was too dangerous and nobody can go to the lake today. We have to go back to Manang.
On this point, I would like to say that I understand the decision.
But we met several guides with their guests who make their way to the lake. So nobody was wrong. And he had also claimed early on that we were leaving our accommodation together for the descent, because it is safe in the large group and this start happens as soon as we see the first others running by outside.
A short time later we had to leave very quickly because the weather was just fine.
However, no one else has gone with us. So here again, he told bullshit before. 6. So we were back in Manang and that was a day early.
Unfortunately, the guide again had no idea that you might do something here to prepare for the pass. So the next day we really set off from Manag Base Camp without adjusting to the altitude. 7. From Manang to Thorong Pedi, two days are actually planned.
Since we were already at the intermediate destination at 11:00 am, the guide suggested to run both stages of the day straight.
Supposedly because a day later the weather on the pass would be worse.
As I noticed later, we omitted the actual Acclimatization Walk to High Camp planned the day before the pass. 8. By the way, on all days the guide couldn't keep up with me.
I had the porter by my side more often than the guide, who was usually much further back.
In general, the guide prefers to accompany the porter as his guest.
But that, too, is understandable. Because without the Porter we would have gone wrong several times, as the guide unfortunately does not really know the way. 9. Waiting for the guide.
It is usual for the guide to come with the menu after dinner and you have to select breakfast already there. What I don't know, however, is that you have to wait after dinner until the guide can think of this activity. 10. Finally, there is a highlight. The passport. Without the porter, the guide probably wouldn't have crossed the pass alive.
Already in the days before, the guide has mentioned several times that the pass is too dangerous in snowfall and we can not then cross.
Later, I realized why. He didn't want to cross the pass himself.
Because the guide was actually out without Crampons (spikes).
The porter then handed him one, so that both only wore one on one shoe each.
The porter has worked it out. Nevertheless, the guide must have fallen 20 times on his ass. Such poor preparation is already punishable. 11. When we arrived in Mukinath after the pass, the path leads through a temple complex to which old people are carried up a long staircase with the sedan.
Really worth seeing for tourists. And all the other guides guided their guests through the middle of it.
Anybody but mine. We walked an undeveloped path past the facility and he didn't say a word about what was happening there.
So that I am then up there again after the check-in alone.
The guy is really made for the profession guide. After the trek - without the guide - everything went great again. The hotel in Pokhara that cooperates with the agency is unique top. And here you can very well spend a few more days. I was driven to the bungee jump with the hotel shuttle, which was waiting for me there and also helped with the registration. Shuttles to Pokhara Airport and Kathmandu were also organized first class. Supposedly (according to the guide) I should have received the first briefing from the agency, which is also quite logical and was the same for all my other trips.
And I would also strongly advise Social Treks for the future if the guides are too stupid.
But the guide should have asked if I knew everything! After all, he picked me up early from the hotel and was my first contact. On the positive side I would like to mention the accommodations. Except for the first night in Chame, I got rooms with their own toilet every time and some rooms even had a shower or washing facility. I didn't expect that before. However, the trek and therefore also the teahouses were extremely empty in my time. Because the Iran war has left numerous aircraft missing every day from Qatar and Emirates.
