Potala Palace - In the morning, visit the renowned Potala Palace and explore its magnificent chapels, audience halls, jeweled and golden burial chortens (stupa tombs) of past Dalai Lamas, and numerous Buddhist frescoes, thangkas, and mandalas.
Jokhang Temple - In the afternoon, visit the holiest temple in Tibet, the Jokhang Temple, constructed during Songtsen Gampo’s reign by Princess Wencheng of the Tang Dynasty in 647 A.D.
Barkhor Street - Explore the famous Barkhor Kora, where traditional Tibetan artifacts, religious implements, antiques, books, Tibetan musical instruments, Thangkas, and traditional Tibetan clothing can be purchased or admired. Overnight stay in Lhasa.
Lhasa—Yamdrok Lake—Karola Glacier—Shigatse
Yamdrok Yumtso Lake - Travel through the lush farmland of Nyangchu Valley, past Yamdrok Lake, and the roadside Karola Glacier at 4960m. Continue westward to Shigatse, the second-largest city, spiritually guided by the Panchen Lama. Today’s highlights include Yamdrok Lake and Kubum Monastery in Gyantse. Yamdrok Lake is shaped like a coiling scorpion with a deep blue hue, and Kubum Monastery features a 35m-high chorten (stupa) with white layers adorned with decorative stripes and a crown-like golden dome.

Shigatse—Tashilunpo Monastery—Tibetan Family Visit—Lhasa
Tashilunpo Monastery - Before the approximately 4-hour drive back to Lhasa from Shigatse, visit the largest monastery in western Tibet, Tashilunpo Monastery, a renowned historic site on the Tibet tour. Founded in 1447 by a disciple of Tsongkapa, it is one of the six great Gelukpa institutions and houses the world’s largest gilded copper image (26m high) of the future god Jampa. Travel along the Friendship Highway back to Lhasa.
Lhasa—Namtso—Northern Tibet Grassland—Lhasa
Lake Namtso - Early in the morning, drive through the expansive grasslands of northern Tibet, witnessing colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind while traveling along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway. Cross the 5190-meter high Nagela Mountain Pass to reach Namtso, the first of Tibet’s three sacred lakes, known as the “Heavenly Lake,” at an altitude of 4718 meters. Namtso Lake is the highest saltwater lake in the world and the second largest in China. Return to Lhasa in the evening, accompanied by the setting sun’s glow.
Departure from Lhasa
Lhasa - At the conclusion of the Tibet trip, transportation to the airport will be arranged. Lhasa Gongga Airport - Chengdu Drive: 1 hour Distance: 60 km to the airport. Suggested Flight: Sichuan Airlines 3U6683, 18:30-20:55, Lhasa.
After breakfast, guests will check out of the hotel. The driver will pick them up from the hotel and transfer them to Lhasa Airport or the train station, marking the end of a delightful and mysterious journey! Guests are warmly welcomed to return to the beautiful Tibet in the future. Tashi Delek!
