Begin your journey in Cisternino, a charming hilltop village recognized as one of Italy’s most picturesque towns. After a brief ride through its quaint, narrow streets, you’ll venture into the serene Itria Valley countryside, traveling along peaceful roads bordered by dry-stone walls, vineyards, and olive groves. The tour offers comprehensive guidance and support: a local guide oversees the route, stops, and assistance throughout the ride, ensuring a leisurely and pleasant experience. Participants can join with their own e-bike at no additional charge, or opt to rent an e-bike on site with payment made locally (refer to “Exclusions”).
The route takes you to a unique location where a winery and an olive mill are situated together. You’ll discover the process of turning grapes into wine and olives into extra virgin olive oil. For those interested, an aperitif/tasting with local delicacies and three glasses of wine can be added. The visits to the winery and olive mill, as well as the tasting, are payable locally on site. You’ll return to Cisternino with a genuine appreciation of the Itria Valley’s rich flavors and traditions.
