Cusipata - Once the group is assembled, the exciting journey towards Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain commences. You will travel by car for about 2 hours in our tourist transport until reaching the community of Cusipata. Here, you will enjoy a delightful breakfast before continuing the tour.
Continuing the Rainbow Mountain Tour, the car departs from the main road to take a dirt road for an additional 45 minutes. During the journey, you can admire stunning landscapes, canyons, and magnificent glaciers such as The Ausangate Glacier, the largest in the Cusco region. -
Vinicunca Mountain - Upon reaching the final stop for the van, the group begins the hike. The duration depends on your pace, but rest assured, you can hike at your own speed.
After a pleasant hike to the Rainbow Mountain Cusco, you finally reach the destination: The Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain (5,020m). Once the group is reunited, our knowledgeable tour guide provides all the information about this stunning attraction. Afterwards, you have free time to appreciate the mountain’s beauty, take photos, enjoy a snack, or simply relax.
After experiencing the Rainbow Mountain, one of the best day trips from Cusco, the group begins the walk back to the parking area and then to the community of Cusipata. Here, you will have a delicious lunch before returning to the imperial city of Cusco.
Finally, you return to Cusco where our transportation will take you to the city center or, if it’s a Private Service, to your respective hotel.

Rainbow mountain was majestic - Rainbow mountain was magical and amazing. I rented a horse to the base, a motorcycle can also be rented (your a passenger) You have to trek the rest of the way but be prepared for 16,446 elevation. There is a first aid station and they are quick to respond to any difficulties.

Great experience!! - “We had an amazing trip in Humantey lake and Rainbow mountain, thanks to our guide Rafael and driver Mr Wilson. They were Super knowledgeable, patient, and honestly made the whole experience feel effortless. They handled everything—timing, tickets, local spots, photography, everything. Highly recommend them if you want a smooth, stress-free Peru trip.”

Carlos is the best! Definitely recommend a Private Tour - I booked a private tour of Rainbow Mountain with Kantu tours. It was amazing! Carlos had the best energy and you can tell how much he loves what he does. He was even picking up trash we saw along the route and agreed to go later in the day with me so we could avoid the larger group tours. There were maybe 10 other people on the mountain when we went! It was perfect. He helped me take photos and had the best attitude during the hike. The pickup was on time and our driver was great as well. Thank you Kantu Tours!!

Loved the tour and I’m really thankful to Anibal. - The tour was really nice. Aníbal really took care of us. My cousin had Asma so I was worried about him but Anibal was always look out for him. Very prepare and responsable person and on top of that he took good pictures of us. I would recommend him to anyone specially if they are scare of the altitude he was always checking on my family.

ATV tour to the Rainbow Mountain - I did the ATV tour with Kantu and it was incredible. Such a fun and easy ride up to the iconic Rainbow Mountain, in less than 10 minutes, we were up there enjoying the breathtaking views, so it is a very good option for those who wants to visit de mountain but don't wanna do the hike. Besides that, the breakfast and lunch were very delicious and the staff were very nice!

Excellent - Excellent experience our guide Don Willi and our driver Don Jaime guided and cared for us at all times. Don Jaime excellent driver with a lot of experience. And our guide Don Willi a lot of knowledge, in all the excursions we were a group of 8 in which there were girls and indicated us the best alternative for the excursion. Highly Recommend Rafael – Knowledgeable, Cheerful, and Reliable - The trip was absolutely amazing, and our guide Rafael was the best! A few days ago, my friend and I explored the Sacred Valley with him, and we were impressed by his knowledge, responsibility, and cheerful personality that we decided to book him again as our private guide for the Rainbow Mountain tour.
Coming from a city at sea level, we were a bit concerned about altitude sickness—even after spending nearly a week in Cusco and Machu Picchu. But thanks to Rafael’s careful planning and support, everything went smoothly. We successfully reached both Rainbow Mountain and the Red Valley viewpoint without any issues.
If you’re considering this tour agency, I highly recommend requesting Rafael as your guide. He truly made our experience unforgettable!
