It’s approximately a 15-minute walk from Adelaide Railway Station. If you’d like to conserve your energy for the hike, take the free tram (BTANIC service, toward BOTANIC GARDENS) from the station and get off at the BOTANIC GARDENS TRAM STOP (the last stop on the tram line).
A BIT OF HISTORY ON AYERS HOUSE
Originally built in 1846 as a simple home, it was acquired in 1855 by Sir Henry Ayers, who converted it into an impressive bluestone mansion. Today, it is recognized as a State Heritage Place.

- Deep Creek Conservation Park - Your guide will lead you on a 10km loop through the stunning wilderness of Deep Creek NP, uncovering a diverse range of ecosystems in a compact area.
You’ll navigate Xanthorrhoea-covered hillsides, open grassy slopes, and rocky gullies, all set against the dramatic backdrop of the Southern Ocean.
Situated on the Fleurieu Peninsula, this protected area is a sanctuary for Western Grey Kangaroos and short-beaked echidnas. Be on the lookout for over 100 bird species as you explore. From June to October, you might even see whales along the coastline during their annual migration.
Get ready for a challenge! This hike will make you sweat with its steep sections and some rock scrambling. Your hard work is rewarded with breathtaking coastal views and a visit to a peaceful, seasonal waterfall before you finish the trail.
FITNESS REQUIREMENTS. Participants must be “trail fit” to join this tour. It is strictly not suitable for those with limited mobility, heart issues, or unresolved back/knee/ankle injuries.

- HIKE KEY FACTS AND FIGURES. This is an intermediate-to-hard hike: we will cover approximately 10km over 6 hours, with a 500m elevation gain. You will encounter steep inclines and uneven surfaces, so a good level of fitness is essential.
- FITNESS REQUIREMENTS. Hikers MUST have a good level of physical fitness and mobility.
- MEDICAL RESTRICTIONS. This hike is strictly not suitable for hikers with heart problems, serious medical conditions, or a history of unresolved back, knee, or ankle injuries.
- SUN PROTECTION. For sun safety, we recommend long sleeves and pants, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunscreen.
- WHAT TO BRING. Please wear sturdy hiking shoes and carry a small daypack for your personal items. In the interest of sustainability, please bring a refillable water bottle.
