Such an amazing day with the waterways - We started from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta, visiting local craft villages like coconut candy and popped rice, and taking a long boat trip along the river. Then we headed to Bamboo resort. Yes, it’s made of real bamboo. I really loved the idea that Joy took us to places that are truly local. The next day began with a boat ride in the early morning light, followed by breakfast on the water (yes, on the water). We biked through banana-lined paths and even visited a local noodle workshop. Every activity felt genuine and non-touristy. Po was the perfect guide, smart, funny, and full of local stories that made everything more vivid. You could tell he’s not just guiding. he really cares about preserving the culture and supporting the local communities we visited. I also loved how well-organized the trip was. We got all the details the night before, including allergy-friendly meal options and everything ran right on time. This tour totally stole my heart so I’m recommending it to you with my whole heart."

Biggest floating market ever - This was hands-down the most authentic experience we had during our entire Vietnam trip. Waking up early for breakfast on a boat at Cai Rang floating market was surreal, then sipping coffee while watching vendors trade goods right on the river felt like stepping into a different world. The bike ride through quiet villages and lush fruit orchards gave us such a peaceful connection to rural life. The whole experience was so well organized, from the moment we were picked up to the moment we returned, it felt smooth and stress-free. Thanks Dory, the tour operator for carefully taking care us before, during and after the trip. The small group format made it feel intimate and personal. Mr. Po as our guide, made the journey even more meaningful. His passion for the region, his humor, and his deep cultural knowledge brought every stop to life. This tour isn't just sightseeing, it’s learning, connecting, and truly tasting the soul of the Mekong Delta.

Breakfast on the boat at sunrise> - Breakfast on the boat at sunrise. I got up at 4:45 AM to get ready, excited to visit the floating market. Cai Ran is the biggest one in Mekong and it truly is. Hundreds of boats gather, selling goods, trading goods, so vibrant. Hundreds of boats gather, selling and trading goods in such a vibrant atmosphere. I ordered a bowl of noodles and ate it right on the boat, simple but really good dish. On the way there, we enjoyed the peaceful, fresh air and a beautiful sunrise over the river. The Bamboo Eco Lodge resort exceeded all my expectations with its traditional bamboo design, stunning pool and authentic local cuisine. Po was our guide, and he’s a talented storyteller. The way he explained everything was engaging and informative. He had us laughing throughout the journey while sharing fascinating insights about Mekong culture. And then we found out he’s actually the founder of the company. No wonder they have so many amazing reviews. Joy Journeys’ organization was flawless from start to finish. Huge thanks to Dory and Anh from the operations team. They were incredibly supportive, took note of all my allergies, and were well prepared. Communication was excellent, and every detail was perfectly coordinated. I chose this tour because it's capped at a maximum of 10 people, Im not a fan of big, crowded groups. This tour was the perfect escape from the chaos of Ho Chi Minh City Thanks Joy, thanks Po.

Excellent! - Tasting Vietnam the real way. The multiple boat rides through different waterways were absolutely stunning, and the bicycle tour through local villages gave us such authentic insights into rural Vietnamese life. The floating market breakfast was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Definitely one of the best destinations we've visited in Southeast Asia so far. Po, big guy, big ideas, big knowledge. He has deep insight into the regional culture and was incredibly open to answering all our questions. We were so happy to have him as our guide for two days. The night before the tour, we received all the info we needed, details about the driver, tour guide, our pickup time, allergy notes... Everything was spot-on. It felt very professional and well-organized. Small group size meant personalized service, and every aspect was well-coordinated. The resort bamboo was luxurious, peaceful but you'd better bring mosquito spray to protect your legs especially when walking around at night. Great to see a company that genuinely supports local communities while providing sustainable tourism. Perfect contrast to the chaos of HCMC!"

Great trip with and even better guide, Kero - We had a great 2 day trip to the Mekong Delta with Kero our wonderful guide. Nothing was a problem for him, he was extremely knowledgeable about the area and gave us great information not only about the area, but Vietnam in general. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Vietnam.

Magical Mekong Delta - This was an extraordinary trip run by 2 very special guides - Logan and Clara who tok care of us brilliantly throughout the tour. The first day was interesting. We visited a Cao Dai temple and Logan explained all about the religion. We then got on the first boat on the Mekong River. It was fairly uneventful but pleasant and comfortable. Unfortunatey, the tide was receding so Logan had to come up with a slightly different plan to the original itinerary. We were able to take smaller boats up a minor canal but not the whole way as the water was just too low. We stopped off at some stage for a short traditional musical performance and a taste of coconut candy. The lunch stop was okay - lots of food and some vegan options too. After that we drove to our gorgeous resort - Mekong Silt Ecolodge and were greeted by Clara - the local guide who would take care of us on the second day. The resort was absolutely stunning, the staff were super lovely, and the pool was heavenly. The beds were comfy and the outside bathroom was novel. Dinner was not bad, although the vegan options were a bit limited so we asked if they could also make us a spicy salad (just without the shrimp!) and they were happy to oblige. The second day was by far the best! It was a shockingly early start - 5.30 am we got on the small boat right next to the resort, but we were rewarded by a beautiful sunrise over the river. It took about 40 mins to get to the floating market. It was totally authentic and we were able to watch the local people go about their business buying and selling all manner of fresh produce. Breakfast was had on the boat - noodle soup and/or bahn mi and amazing iced coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. The vendors just pulled up beside us! After that, Clara took us onto her friend's boat to experience life on board. We met the family and saw how they lived while sharing fruit wine (!) and delicious fruits. The mother sells purple yams wholesale while the daughter sells fruit to tourists. We were privileged enough to meet the family and they were very welcoming. After that we took the boat to a rice noodle workshop to meet Auntie & Uncle Nine! We learned how the noodles are made and even 'helped out'! Then back to the resort for a leisurely bike ride through the village to a local Buddhist monastery. Clara was very knowledgeable and happy to share all kinds of information with us. Our final activity was learning how to make spring rolls. We made our own lunch - spring rolls and rice noodles with veggies, herbs and dipping sauce. Delicious! Again, there was a vegan option, which was great! Finally it was time to say goodbye to Clara and the lovely resort staff. It was a magical couple of days made extra special by two fantastic guides and lovely staff. Thanks to Joy Journeys for a great itinerary and to the guides for making everything come alive.

A Truly Authentic Mekong Delta Experience - We had an unforgettable tour in the Mekong Delta with Clara and our driver Thanh — it was truly an experience we’ll always remember. We were a group of five friends, and from the very beginning, we felt welcomed and comfortable. Clara was an amazing guide: passionate, knowledgeable, and always attentive to helping us experience local culture in an authentic way. She took us to places off the beaten path, where we could see daily life along the river, visit local markets, and taste incredibly fresh and delicious fruit straight from the producers. It was so much more than just a tour — it was a true immersion into the heart of the Delta. Everything was well organized, from transportation to the activities, and we always felt safe and relaxed. We highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to discover the most genuine and fascinating side of Vietnam. Thank you again Clara and Thanh for making our day so special!

Great tour with dedicated guides - Tom and Clara are really skilled and knowledgeable guides. There was plenty of time to ask questions and take pictures along the way. We got a really good insight into the local life as it is lived on and around the Mekong Delta. Nice that we were only 4 on the trip, as it thus became a more personalized experience.

Sunrise Breakfast and Tour at Mekong Delta Floating Market - We had the privilege of being hosted not only by two wonderful hostesses from Joy Journeys = Dory and Ánh but also the amazing Po - the owner of Joy Journeys - together their knowledge was invaluable. Po and his team were very knowledgeable and happy to share all kinds of information with us. We visited a Cao Dai temple and Logan explained all about the religion. We then got on the first boat on the Mekong River. Staying at Mekong Silt Eco Lodge - we experienced sunset by the river, village bike rides, cocktails by the pool, riverside anniversary dinner. The beds were comfy and the outside bathroom was reminiscent of all bali style villa .The second day, the 5.30 am start and small boat ride was rewarded by a beautiful sunrise over the river. 40 mins later we were at the original Mekong floating markets. An authentic experience to watch the local people go about their business buying and selling all manner of fresh produce. Breakfast was had on the boat - noodle soup and/or bahn mi and amazing iced coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. The vendors just pulled up beside us! We were privileged enough to meet the family and they were very welcoming. After that we took the boat to a rice noodle workshop, visit to the land markets, local wines and candies and much more. Our final activity was learning how cook some Vietnamese favourites. It was a magical couple of days made extra special by fantastic guides and lovely people we met along the way, who looked after our entire group of 12-15 family members on our parents 60th wedding anniversary (the girls even arranged a surprise celebration cake). Thanks to Joy Journeys for a great itinerary and to the guides for making everything come alive. Totally recommend Joy Journeys.
