History of My Son:

Situated in a narrow valley encircled by mountains, this temple and tower complex is a remarkable example of ancient Cham architecture.

My Son originally comprised 70 architectural structures, ranging from small to large buildings. It served as the sacred land of the Cham people from the 4th to the 13th century, primarily dedicated to the deities Shiva, Krishna, and Vishnu. Today, only about 20 temples remain due to wartime destruction.

In the 4th century, during King Bhadravarman’s reign, after the construction of TraKieu, My Son became the religious center of the Cham kingdom, hosting royal members, aristocrats, and significant religious ceremonies.

Developing continuously over nearly nine centuries, My Son experienced both the flourishing and declining phases of the Champa Kingdom. Despite the fall of the Champa Kingdom, Cham culture endures.

ITINERARY OF MY SON HOLYLAND MORNING TOUR:

– 7:30 a.m. Commence your journey from your hotel in Hoi An or Da Nang city

– 8:45. Reach My Son holyland, hop on a buggy followed by a short walk to reach the destinations

– 9:00 – 10:30: Our proficient English-speaking guide will lead you to explore various segments from B, C, D, A, G, E & F, providing in-depth knowledge about Cham history, culture, kingdom and the native people, and the art of constructing Hindu temples without the application of Mortar

– 11:45. End the tour and head back to your hotel in Hoi An or Da Nang city

– 13:30 p.m. Start your excursion from your hotel in Hoi An or Da Nang city

– 15:00. Arrive at My Son holyland, take a buggy ride concluded by a brief walk leading to the sites
