• Callander - After leaving Edinburgh, the journey heads north through the central belt of Scotland. The guide will share captivating stories about Scotland’s historical figures like William Wallace and Robert the Bruce. Along the way, you’ll see royal palaces, the mythical Kelpies, and the ancient Stirling Castle before reaching the first stop in Callander. Known as “The Gateway to the Highlands,” Callander is located on the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, an area renowned for its natural beauty.

This stop offers a chance to stretch and refresh before continuing into the highlands. If the famous ‘Hairy Highland Coos’ are spotted, there will be a stop for a selfie (seasonal availability from mid-November to March).

Please note that during summer, one coach per day will take an alternative route for a comfort stop due to limited opening hours in Callander.

• Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park - As the tour enters The ‘Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park,’ the bus navigates through hills, mountains, and glens. These remote areas were once home to Highland Clans and Scotland’s famous outlaw, Rob Roy MacGregor, often likened to The Scottish Robin Hood. The guide will share thrilling tales of betrayal and revenge as you take in the landscape.
• Glencoe - A brief stop at Glencoe reveals the site of one of Scotland’s most infamous massacres. The silent hills of the Glen tell a story of 17th-century betrayal, which the guide will recount. Despite its sorrowful history, Glencoe remains one of Scotland’s most stunning landscapes, a highlight of any Scottish Highlands tour.
• Fort William - The tour continues through Fort William, passing the majestic Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in the British Isles. The Nevis Range looms over the road as the journey proceeds to Loch Ness.
• Fort Augustus - Eager to catch a glimpse of ‘Nessie’? Fort Augustus, a picturesque Highland village on Loch Ness’s southern shores, offers a chance to take a 1-hour cruise with Cruise Loch Ness. The local crew shares their Nessie experiences, aided by state-of-the-art sonar equipment to explore the loch’s depths (tickets not included).

For those opting out of the cruise, there’s time to explore the village and its Caledonian Canal lock system, designed by Thomas Telford in the 19th century. A walk along the canal and into the countryside offers views of mountains, farm animals, and possibly red deer.

• Commando Monument - The tour stops at the Commando Memorial, a 1942 training ground for Britain’s Special Forces. The statue of heroes overlooks the Nevis range, making it a prime photo opportunity. Weather permitting, Ben Nevis, the UK’s tallest mountain, can also be seen.
• Cairngorms National Park - Traveling south through Cairngorm National Park, visitors might spot red squirrels, roe deer, red deer, buzzards, pine martens, golden eagles, and ospreys. The final stop is Pitlochry.
• Pitlochry - On the way south, a stop in Pitlochry allows for a leg stretch and fresh air. This charming town, nestled in Highland Perthshire, offers stunning scenery with Beinn Bhracaigh (Ben Vrackie) and the River Tummel nearby, making it ideal for walking.
• Forth Bridge - Re-entering Edinburgh from the north, the view includes Scotland’s engineering marvel, the Forth Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This 19th-century cantilever bridge was once the world’s longest. It stands alongside the 20th-century Forth Road Bridge and the 21st-century Queensferry Crossing, which opened in 2017. These three bridges span the Firth of Forth, connecting the capital city with the Kingdom of Fife.
• Edinburgh - The tour concludes with a drop-off in the city center, with an estimated arrival time of 8:30 PM. During winter, arrival may be earlier.

It is recommended to allow 2 hours between the expected arrival and any onward travel or reservations in case of delays, as individual drop-offs are not available.

Please note: To accommodate demand and protect smaller towns during peak season, the route may be reversed. A large portion of the tour is spent on the bus, allowing you to relax and enjoy the stunning Highland views.

• The Scottish weather is unpredictable, and it is recommended to bring suitable clothing and footwear.
• We encourage bringing a packed lunch and/or snacks to avoid spending time queuing. There are regular stops on tour to purchase food and refreshments that cater for most dietary requirements
• There are regular stops on tour for comfort breaks, as we do not have toilets onboard the coaches
• Tickets to the optional Loch Ness cruise are not included and can be purchased on the day
• Minimum age to travel is 7 years old. Photo ID, such as a passport, may be required. Children (8-17) must be accompanied by an adult.
• This tour has been designed to show you as much of Scotland as we can fit into one day! Due to the distance driven a large portion of the tour is spent on the bus, taking in the views and scenery of Scotland. Any time not accounted for in the itinerary is spent travelling through Scotland on the bus.
• For insurance purposes, passengers must not be unaccompanied on our buses during tour stops. Drivers take legally required breaks and cannot stay with the vehicle.
• Please note: To manage demand and protect smaller towns during peak season, the route may run in reverse. A significant portion of the tour is spent on the bus, allowing you to relax and soak in the breathtaking Highland views.
