Following this, the tour proceeds to Alnwick Castle, the second-largest castle in the UK, originally constructed in 1096. Harry Potter fans will recognize it as Hogwarts, and all visitors can appreciate the gardens and Europe’s largest treehouse. During the winter months, when Alnwick Castle is closed, the tour will instead visit Lindisfarne, Holy Island. Lunch options are available in Alnwick or on Holy Island.

On the return journey, there will be a stop in the charming village of Etal to view the 14th-century castle ruins before heading back to Edinburgh. Note that Etal is not included in the winter itinerary.
