Transfer to Ngamba Island for the Chimpanzee Tour
Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary - After breakfast this morning, embark on a 45-minute boat journey to Ngamba Island, home to orphaned chimpanzees residing in a protected sanctuary. Upon arrival, caretakers will guide visitors around the sanctuary, sharing the history and reasons for the chimps’ relocation to the island. Visitors will arrive in time for the feeding session, offering an opportunity to interact with the chimpanzees. From the visitor platform, observe their unique behaviors and capture photographs. Return to the Entebbe accommodation afterward.
Entebbe and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Kibale National Park - Following breakfast, travel southwest to Fort Portal, then continue to Kibale Forest National Park. Enjoy lunch en route. Arrive at Kibale Forest in the evening and relax for the remainder of the day.
Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale National Park
Kibale National Park - After an early breakfast, attend a briefing session with park officials before embarking on a chimpanzee tracking adventure in the rainforest. Return to the lodge for lunch, and in the evening, participate in the Bigodi Swamp Walk. Bigodi Swamp is renowned for its diverse bird species, including pelicans, herons, collared apalis, bee-eaters, Narina trogons, black-capped apalis, yellow-spotted nicators, blue-headed sunbirds, and woodland warblers. The swamp also supports the local community through tourism and crafts.
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park - Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the largest parks, home to numerous mammal species. Enjoy lunch and arrive in time for an evening game drive in the savannah, where you may see lions, elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, striped jackals, hippopotamuses, kobs, warthogs, and various primates such as chimpanzees, olive baboons, red-tailed, and vervet monkeys in the forests. Dinner and overnight stay at your chosen accommodation.
Activities in the Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park - After breakfast, drive towards Kasenyi to visit the crater lakes, Edwards and George, known as mating grounds for several antelope species, particularly the Uganda kob. You may also spot more wildlife, including lions, buffaloes, elephants, and other animals. Return to the lodge for lunch, then enjoy an afternoon launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Relish the sunset on the cruise before returning to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay as the previous night.
Transfer to Bwindi Forest Via the Ishasha Sector
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After an early breakfast, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park through the Ishasha sector, famous for tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a short game drive, have lunch, and then proceed to Bwindi through the lush green countryside. Arrive in Bwindi by evening and check into your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After an early breakfast, head to the ranger station for a briefing, then begin the gorilla trekking expedition in Bwindi National Park’s lush forest vegetation by mid-morning. The trek is quite demanding and requires fitness, as it can take 2-7 hours. Along the trails, you may also see monkeys, birds, and butterflies. Spend up to one hour with the gorillas before returning to the lodge, satisfied with the experience. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay as the previous night.
Transfer from Bwindi Forest Back to Entebbe
Entebbe - After breakfast, embark on the journey back to Kampala, with stops at the equator and for lunch. Arrive in Kampala in the early evening and transfer to the airport for flights. This day is reserved for late evening or night flights.
