Here, guests can capture photos, observe the smoking rocks, and experience the strong scent of brimstone.
- Nea Kameni Hot Springs - Upon returning to the ship, the journey continues to the island of Palaia Kameni, home to the renowned hot springs and natural mud baths formed by volcanic eruptions. In the small bay of St. Nickolas, water temperatures range from 30 to 35 degrees Celsius, as it blends with the regular seawater. The ship remains here for about 30 minutes, providing an opportunity for swimming. Although there is no beach, guests can descend the boat’s stairs and swim approximately 30 meters to reach the interior of the Hot Springs bay. After enjoying the thermal waters, the boat returns to the original port.

Must to do: Volcano, Hot Springs, Thirasia, view of Caldera by sea DA Oia to Fira passing under Skaros - Pleasant experience with friendly and professional staff; excursion to the volcano with exciting guide; we opted for the longer excursion of about hours to the island of Thirasia, beautiful for the bathing stop and the view towards Santorini (but you could choose for a lunch in one of the taverns on the harbor or for a climb to the village of Manolas). Absolutely competitive prices.

A really fun and informative tour. - The tour was really fun. We received a lot of interesting information about the volcano, the hot springs, and about the island's history generally. Everything ran very smoothly too. I'd recommend this for everyone other than very young children, who might not be able to swim from the boat to the hot springs (about 30m).
One other thing, although the tour description says that the volcano hike is 20 minutes up a gentle slope, it's a bit steeper than that. It's not a difficult hike, but many in our group were wearing flip-flops or leather-soled sandals, which made it very difficult for them to get to the crater. (The instructions on their website was clear about wearing trainers/sneakers, but not everyone read it through.)

From start to finish, the entire trip was exceptionally well-organized. The staff was not only efficient but also incredibly warm and welcoming. Every detail was carefully thought out, making the entire experience feel seamless and relaxing. Whether it was boarding the boat, navigating the tour schedule, or simply making sure everyone was comfortable, the Dakoutros team handled everything with professionalism and genuine care.
A special mention must go to the gentleman who narrated the historical background of the volcano and surrounding islands — he was absolutely outstanding. His storytelling was captivating, insightful, and brought so much depth to the experience. You could tell he was passionate about the history and proud to share it, which made it all the more special.

A lovely tour, great hike up the volcano and breathtaking views. - A lovely tour. Not too crowded, but a nice buzz. The three hours were more than enough, would not recommend a longer tour. The guide who took us up the volcano was excellent, very approachable and knowledable. I saw a review about lovely music on the boat, I second that as we were sitting right by the speakers and loved it.
One negative is the lack of transport from Fira for the three hour tours. We managed to get a bus to take us to Athenios in the morning but no buses available at 5PM after the 2PM tour. So we had to take a taxi back to Fira, expensive! The provison of transport to and from Fira for all tours is essential by the tour organisers as there is no other way to get there.

3 hours trip volcano and hotsprings - The views are nice. The boat comfortable and nice staff. As a suggestion, I would inform the clients in the trip description, that hot springs water dirty your clothes.

Disappointing trip - We took the Hot Springs & Volcano boat trip yesterday. While it was reasonably priced and a good way to fill a few hours, the experience felt rushed and lacked a relaxed atmosphere. Guests who wanted to swim to the hot springs were subjected to an unclear swim test, with some asked to leave the water based on the captain’s judgment. Although safety is important, the inconsistent criteria and the crew's unfriendly attitude were disappointing. On a positive note, the volcano hike and the captain’s commentary were informative, and we captured some good photos. The trip was fun because I was with good friends but overall, I wouldn’t recommend it — there are likely better options available.

Do NOT pay by card, you will be ripped off!!!!!! - Good day BUT - DO NOT PAY WITH CARD WITH THE DAKOUTROS BROS!!!!! I was charged 17 Euros more, that is 8.50 euros each. I checked the price with them before paying and didn’t see they had added such a surcharge (my Husband was concerned as he watched the transaction but didn’t like to say 🙄 but I was well and truly ripped off.
