Reed Flute Cave is located on the hillside of Bright Hill in Northwest Guilin, near the Peach Blossom River, approximately 7 km from downtown. The cave is named after the reeds growing near its entrance, which are ideal for making flutes. Spanning 800 meters, the exploration takes about fifty minutes. Opened to the public in 1962, it is one of the most visited caves in China and globally, often referred to as the “Art Palace of Nature.” Inside, visitors will find numerous stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars, stone curtains, and stone flowers, all illuminated by colorful lights that create a breathtaking spectacle. These formations are named based on their appearance. The Crystal Palace, where illuminated stalagmites reflect in the cave’s natural lake, is among the cave’s most impressive sights.
