Family experience worth remembering - Mr. Son was our tour guide in our Halong Bay Cruise. He was patient enough and explained things well. Started on time and ended on time. Kudos!

Amazing guide, amazing service, amazing views. - The excursion was a great experience with amazing views. The interaction with the guide, a local in Sa Pa of the Black Hmong, Sua, is definitely the highlight of the trip. Sua was very informative and gave us lots and lots of insight into everything we saw around us in fluent English, and connected with us personally as well. She was extremely patient with us and gave us lots of time to rest and we had a break at a cafe. We ended up way behind schedule, with it getting dark Sua helped coordinate some scooter taxi's for us to finish off the trek as well, which was amazing and so kind. The trek itself has option for easy route through roads and a harder route through the rice paddies. It is not difficult as it was not too technical but it was just slippery and uneven in many places. My group of 5 with 4 middle aged ladies who do not hike often were able to do it fine, just with some help and time. The views are stunningly beautiful and you must experience it yourself. The homestay facility was good, and in the low season of September it was empty and we had the building to ourselves, however the building had many rooms so it will definitely be full in high season with minimal privacy. The host family was very kind but did not speak English in our case so we could not communicate with them, and we ate separately at our own table with minimal interaction. Our guide Sua drank with us and talked with us however and was great. The bus was very comfortable and we were offered an upgrade for a price as well. The upgrade offers more room and privacy, however our group preferred the standard option due to comfort/preference. The lunch at the restaurant was hearty and good in quantity, taste was good but not amazing. Another great highlight is the service from GoAsiaTravel. My contact, Viet, was in constant whatsapp communication with me before, during, and even far after the tour giving me updates to conditions and checking in to make sure everything was OK. He was extremely fast in response and was responding even at night. One of my group members forgot some souvenirs in the bus, and Viet spent 3 days searching for it, and eventually found it. Three days he kept at it! He brought it to his office and we picked up the lost items from him in Hanoi. I want to note we went very shortly after Typhoon Yagi and despite the carnage of the many many landslides we saw and trekked over, the views and locals were bright and cheerful. Minimal impact to our experience. Amazing service and would definitely recommend GoAsiaTravel for your tour.

It was difficult - It is very difficult to comment without coming and seeing it. My experiences here are very different, I haven't decided yet whether they are good or bad.
