Wonderful day with lovely Barack + Lachen - We were contacted by our very helpful and friendly driver Barak the evening we arrived, who then proceeded to help us to organise a taxi and informed us to call our Riad to meet us as otherwise it would be hard to find. He then checked that we had arrived ok and coordinated with the Riad for our safe pickup the next morning, and happily delayed till 9am since our flight had been so delayed that evening. He picked us up just minutes from our Riad with water ready for us and we had some lovely chats getting to know him in his near perfect English - one of the many language he speaks! Along the way he stopped when we saw camels so we could take pictures and various other photo opportunities, and even paid for our coffee without us asking ‘so we could enjoy Moroccan coffee’. After picking up our driver, who also leant us rain jackets since we forgot them, we began our hike with the (25 years!) experienced guide Lachen. I was doing the hike with my Mum in her 60s who was slightly nervous about whether she could manage it and about losing her footing. Lachen was very patient and made sure she was comfortable and rested when needed. When we reached the lunch stop before our summit, my mum decided to stay back and rested with tea and a great view. The way up was steeper and slightly unsteady (Lachen kindly even offered to take my bag) but very much worth it for the view. Definitely bring shoes with good grip for the descent down. The lunch spread was delicious and far more food than we could manage. Lachen made good company telling us about life as a Berber and the culture in the mountains on the way back down. Barak once again picked us up and he told us all about his life in the Sahara desert, even saying we had a place to stay in their extra house there if we ever wanted. He was truly lovely and told us we could message him should we need anything when we were in Morocco or had any questions. Overall it was a great experience and also the planning and communication over email beforehand was both very friendly with very quick responses.

Outstanding Trip Planning Experience with Ella – A Hidden Gem in Morocco - I actually came across Ella from a 'Morrocco travel tips and recommendations' Facebook group and WOW I am so glad I did. From the offset it was so clear that Ella truly cared about providing an authentic experience and had extensive local knowledge. We ended up booking 3 separate trip with her during our time in Marrakech as well as a transfer to and from Agafay desert. She was super organised and would keep in contact with us on Whatsapp letting us know driver pick up times, their name and even sending us a picture of the car and registration plate. She helped us even with experiences she didn't provide such as an evening food tour which was such a highlight of our trip and also recommending us a hidden gem of a bar (Barometre) which was walking distance to our dinner at La Trattoria one night. Everything was seamless from start to finish and I couldn't fault Itran Travel at all. We would highly recommend the trips we booked - we had a semi-private hot air balloon ride arranged which was unforgettable, visited a small rescue farm and had the most amazing food cooked by a local neighbour and had a full day in the Atlas Mountains. Our guides for the mountain tour were two amazing local girls - we literally avoided all of the tourist traps and didn't bump into 1 tourist during the entire day. Our only regret is not finding Itran sooner — we would honestly have planned the entire trip with Ella had we known.

Great experience in remote Atlas mountains - Very friendly guide. The remote mountain and cooking in Adobe kitchen was amazing. Great experience. Highly recommend to someone looking for more of a primitive lifestyle experience.

Wonderful window into the Amazigh community - Our trip to the mountains with Youssra and Hassan was one of those rare experiences that will stay with us forever. Unlike the many tourist trips on offer with other companies, Itran provided a unique window into a community that we knew little about before our trip. Youssra was a kind and knowledgeable guide, who showed us her home village with warmth and justifiable pride. We felt that the welcome we received was very genuine and we were honoured to be able to briefly experience life in this amazing community. The area has been profoundly damaged by the earthquake and Itran’s ethos helps support the reconstruction of the villages with the profit from this tour. We could not recommend this company more highly. Simply wonderful and unique.
