Cross the Nile to explore some of the most remarkable highlights of Luxor’s renowned West Bank with a private tour guide. Visit the Valley of the Kings and explore 3 tombs.
The Valley of Kings
This is the final resting place of Egypt’s rulers from the 18th to the 20th dynasty, housing tombs of great Pharaohs like Ramses II and the young Pharaoh Tutankhamen. The tombs were filled with all the goods a ruler might need in the afterlife. Most of the decorations inside the tombs remain well-preserved. Visiting the Tomb of the young Pharaoh Tutankhamen costs an additional 200 Egyptian Pounds.
11:30 AM
- Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - The Temple of Hatshepsut
The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut is one of the most stunning and best-preserved temples of Ancient Egypt found in Luxor. Built on three levels with two wide ramps connecting them, the temple rises from the desert plain in a series of terraces, blending seamlessly with the limestone cliffs of the Theban Mountain, as if Nature herself crafted this extraordinary monument.
- Colossi of Memnon - 12:30 PM
The Colossi of Memnon
The Colossi of Memnon are two enormous stone statues of King Amenhotep III, the only remnants of a complete mortuary temple. Made from quartzite sandstone blocks originally from Cairo and transported 700 km to Luxor, these statues, known as the Colossi of Memnon, stand 18 meters tall. They are the remains of what was once the largest complex on the west bank, built by Amenhotep III. Around noon, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Luxor, followed by a visit to the Karnak Temple, the largest ancient religious site in the world.
- Temple of Karnak - 3:00 PM
Karnak Temples
The Karnak Temple is the largest ancient religious site globally, unmatched in Egypt. It is the largest temple complex ever constructed, representing the collective achievements of many generations of ancient builders and Pharaohs. The Karnak Temple complex spans 247 acres and consists of three main temples.
Finally, guests will be transported back to their hotel in El Gouna in a private air-conditioned vehicle, concluding the day trip from El Gouna to Luxor.
