Unforgettable 8-Day Iceland Tour with the Best Guide – Rocky! - Our tour around Iceland was absolutely unforgettable, and a huge part of that was thanks to our incredible guide, Rocky. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized. Rocky is truly one of a kind. He made every stop more meaningful with fascinating stories, local insights, and a great sense of humor that kept the group engaged and smiling the whole time. We visited breathtaking waterfalls, glaciers caves, volcanoes, black sand beaches, and hidden gems . Rocky was always attentive, patient, and genuinely cared about everyone’s experience, making sure we were comfortable, safe, and having the best time possible. This tour exceeded all our expectations and became a once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you’re considering a tour of Iceland, don’t hesitate—especially if Rocky is your guide. He truly is the best, and we couldn’t have asked for a better person to show us such an incredible country. Highly recommended!

What an amazing tour with our own personal DJ! Thanks, Rocky! - Where to begin?!?! Iceland has so much to offer - the waterfalls, geysers, and volcanoes are obviously incredible and photogenic - but the warmth of the people puts it over the top. Seeing the natural wonders 10x better by having an entertaining and knowledgeable guide, thanks Rocky!! His hand-selected playlist and situation-specific DJing made the drives between sites equal parts relaxing and energizing to keep the group engaged. We had plenty of time for pics and exploring, which Rocky complemented with interesting and entertaining tails about Iceland, its history, and even its elves and trolls.

Amazing and unforgettable - Our 8 day Ring Road tour was unforgettable and I highly recommend it. Iceland in winter is so rugged and beautiful, and this was the perfect way to see it. Our guide Gylfi was excellent - always smiling, helpful, and knowledgeable about Iceland and its history. We loved every minute!

An Engaging, Thoughtfully Curated Tour Led by a Truly Passionate Guide - The places of interest we visited during the tour truly stood out. We had ample time at each location to enjoy the surroundings, take photos, eat, rest, and fully appreciate the experience. Our guide’s unique insights and storytelling, shaped by his background as a geographer were a particular highlight. John genuinely loves what he does, and it shows in the energy and passion with which he shares his knowledge. He is super engaging and entertaining, and has a remarkable ability to connect with people from different cultures and backgrounds. He thoughtfully curates an experience that feels both engaging and unforgettable. I also appreciated how open he is to feedback and how quickly he takes action to resolve or accommodate reasonable requests. My only suggestion would be for future accommodations to include lift access. Carrying heavy luggage during winter can be especially challenging for guests who may struggle with stairs.

November 8 Day Tour - Do not hesitate to go to Iceland in November! Our 8-day tour around Iceland was outstanding from start to finish. This trip with Troll is a great itinerary that allowed us to see an incredible range of Iceland’s natural wonders without feeling rushed. Our guide, John, truly made the trip exceptional. He was entertaining, personable, and extremely knowledgeable about Iceland’s history, geology, folklore, and culture. Not to mention his DJ skills! We experienced all the weather including snow and one day of wind/rain. We always felt safe. John added some extra stops which added to our exprience. I highly recommend this tour.

Unforgettable 8 days trip and had lots of fun with Experienced tour guide John - I had a 8 days tour with friend from Reykjavik. Everything was good except the crazy weather hahaha. It was a great option to just hop on a bus and explore iceland and got lots of knowledge about geology from an experienced tour guide and no need to considering of the weather conditions especially in the winter. Even though the weather was not as good as we expected, John tried his best to make as much stops as he could to make our trip more memorable. This was the first time coming here, and I’ll be back someday Iceland! Thanks for everything I’ve experienced. Thank you John for sharing the beauty of Iceland through your eyes with us!

Amazing experience & incredible guide , Rocky is the best! - We had an absolutely unforgettable time with Troll.is, the tour was wonderfully organised and such a great way to explore Iceland’s wild landscapes from Reykjavík. The itinerary gave us the perfect mix of stunning natural sights and adventure, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Troll.is really feels like a local friend showing you around and truly passionate about Iceland’s nature. But the real highlight of our trip was our tour guide, Rocky! He is brilliant! Rocky’s passion, knowledge and warmth made the whole experience so much better. He shared fascinating stories about Iceland’s history and geology, kept the group engaged, and made everyone feel comfortable and welcomed. His energy, sense of humour, and awesome Iceland playlist made the long drives fly by. I honestly loved him very much and he was one of the biggest reasons this tour was so memorable. Big thanks to Rocky. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Iceland, especially if you want a friendly, knowledgeable guide to make your trip extra special. 🌍🇮🇸 West

Unforgettable trip and the best tour guide in the world - I joined a 8-days tour with my husband in December, 2025. This is our first time to join a tour. Initially, we planned to take a self-drive tour, but after a round of evaluation with Iceland's extreme weather. Finally, we decided to join a tour. Fortunately, we joined this tour and met a wonderful tour guide, John. He arranged everything perfectly. He kept a close eye on the weather and took good care of everyone's needs. He did everything he could to ensure our safety during each experience. He is the best tour guide in the world. we highly recommend those of u to find him if u are going to explore Iceland, who’s so knowledgeable, kind, funny. He is not only a tour guide but also a caregiver, a driver, a friend even a teacher. This journey fully revealed his love for Iceland and his work.We gain a lots from these tour. Thank you John and my group-mates.

Magical but with Hiccups - I recently finished the 8-day Around Iceland tour with Troll.is, and it was one of the best travel experiences I’ve had with a few caveats. The itinerary was incredibly well-designed—packed with waterfalls, glaciers, black-sand beaches, lava fields, and hot springs—however due to limited daylight, the stops felt rushed. Every day offered something completely different, and I loved how much of the country we were able to see in 8 days. Again on limited daylight. Our guide Thales was friendly, knowledgeable, funny, patient, and clearly passionate about Iceland. He shared local stories, history, geology, and practical tips that made each stop more meaningful. Tip: if traveling in winter, bring crampons. SEVERAL people fell on ice both in our group and others. The group size was perfect, however, Troll combined groups on 3 different occasions and everyone in our original and new group had at least two tour guides. This was not ideal and miscommunications could have been avoided if we were made aware before our trip that consolidation was a possibility. The accommodations were mostly comfortable with adequate breakfasts. We stayed two nights in the first hotel which caused us to miss the glacier lagoon due to travel time. Expect comfortable beds, very limited space, and decent locations for spotting Northern Lights. The bus was clean and warm (important in Iceland!), and most everything ran on time. You are at the mercy of your tour mates being back on time. WiFi was great. The chargers did not work. The Glacier Mice led the Crystal Ice Cave tour and it took 3.5 hrs because our group was split. It was incredibly packed inside the cave and felt over touristy. My favorite highlights: walking on a glacier, exploring the Eastfjords, soaking in geothermal lagoons, (we were booked at Forest Lagoon instead of Vok) and getting to see parts of Iceland I never would’ve reached on my own. Things I wish I would have known- 1. Don’t overpack. Snow pants, thermals, wool socks, gloves and a hat. Get the crampons. They are expensive in Iceland. 2. Food (everything) is expensive in Iceland. Bring snacks or stock up on easy to make meals from the grocery store. We spent an easy $150 per day on food for the two of us. A lot of meal stops are at tourist locations. 3. Be prepared to stay up late if your goal is to see the aurora and understand they are not guaranteed. 4. Conditions in the winter are not for the weak. Thales was an amazing driver on ice and snow and I always felt comfortable but the horses (horseback riding option) slipped on the ice and it felt cruel to make them walk. Overall I would recommend this group tour. I made a dozen new friends from all over the world and enjoyed Iceland for the second time.
