Viator is the BEST!! - It was an absolutely wonderful experience, Wady our driver and City tour guide was fantastic! The monkey tour we took and all the people who worked their work so nice and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour and any tour that Viator does. Particularly Minaya and Aribel and Wady our actual driver and city tour guide in Puerto Plata. They were always in communication and sensitive to all of our needs and requests. Wonderful wonderful wonderful tour. I would do it again.

great affordable tour - great directions for meet up. car and driver ready and waiting for us even though we were about 20 mins early. Frances was fantastic. had a private tour to monkeys. then he took us to overlook. chocolate factory and umbrella/pink st. .we finished up faster than expected and didn’t want to get food so he asked what else we would like to do. i really wanted to stop by the fort luckily it was only 5 mins from pink street. he dropped up there for about 15-20 mins then back to the port by 12:30. wonderful tour and guide!

A Great Excursion! - The entire experience from the visit to the monkey home and the City tour were great. We really appreciated all of the other features, exhibits, info and shopping at the Monkey home site.
Then the City tour with it's stop at the Chocolate Factory and the tour and information about Puerto Plata, Dominican it's history, lifestyle and current situation was fascinating and our Driver/Guide was incredibly personable and accommodating.
My wife and I would enthusiastically recommend and suggest this excursion to anyone visiting this Amber Cove Cruise stop or visiting the City.

Staff was very friendly... - Staff was very friendly at Monkey House from the moment we arrived. From interacting with parrots and the monkeys to trying other products made onsite, it was a fun experience. The squirrel monkeys are adorable and very entertaining. The staff ensured that every person interacted with the monkeys and had a great experience. We would go back again.
Junior was our driver and an excellent guide for the day! He made sure we saw the highlights of Puerto Plata (umbrella street, pink street, city square) and even bought us bird seed so we could feed the pigeons in the square. Junior ensured we arrived back to our cruise ship with plenty of time to make our all aboard time.

Immersive and Fun Experience for the Family - We had a wonderful time with Darwin! We got to tour Monkey Home, Chocolate World, Umbrella Street and Casa de Blanca. It was immersive, Darwin was sharing information about Puerto Plata along the tour as well. He was kind, considerate, education. It was all of the things and more! We enjoyed the whole tour and highly recommend it. The monkeys at Monkey home and the staff were an absolute highlight.

Monkeys great. Puerto Plata limited. - Great arrangements and price. Terrific communication and responses. Monkey home was fun. The spider monkeys are quite cute, funny, interesting. Be advised, people visiting get fruit on clothes, one got peed on, one got a pooh. It was worth it to have time with these delightful creatures. Puerto Plata tour was interesting as it gave us a taste of the culture as well as the poverty around and in the city. The Umbrella Street was colorful, though short. I would advise skipping the Pink Street. It was just that: pink. Short, crowded, tourist draw. There is so much else of value to explore in this country. Why spend precious time to see a pink street? The chocolate factory was a small introduction to how chocolate is made. Samples provided. Gift shop for purchase. We didn’t get to see the workers actually making the chocolates, just a movie and displays.
Of note, our driver, Gasper, was very kind and positive. English still developing, so not much talk on the tour. A lovely human who will most likely be a wonderful guide as his English advances. Share stories of your country. We want to know…
Suggestion: take off the pink street, add in the rum factory which is very close to the chocolate factory. Perhaps add another stop at one of the local roadside fruit vendors, or at a mango grove or banana farm.

not so great - Our guide was not very good. more of a driver. He did not point out any things of interest, talk about what we were seeing and could not even answer many. basic questions about his city
