Good times in the Jungle! - This tour was super fun! Really nice to be in the heart of La Selba with our guide Teddy who knew a ton of stuff about the jungle ! The food prepared by the family was excellent as well! The beds all have bug nets so sleeping with the sounds of the jungle if really nice . Just a couple things to be prepared for (all manageable but just nice to be aware): 1. Bugs everywhere , bring bug spray and long sleeves and pants and hat for your hike. Trust me , it’s worth it even if it’s hot and sweaty . 2. Lots of sitting in the small boat going up and down the river (bring a cushion or something to sit on) 3. The trip from Iquitos is VERY long: 2 hours in car, a few minutes in mototaxi, and 3 hours in a boat. (Make sure to ask for a covered boat or you will fry in the sun on the way there sitting in that same small uncovered boat ) Have fun!!!

we had great time there - We are 2 families with 4 adults and 4 kids and we all had very great time there, our guide Wilson is very experienced in this jungle. We saw everything we expected to see, the dolphin, the monkeys, night hike to see tarantula, Piranha fishing. A great memory for us, especially for the kids

Not as advertised - Firstly my flight was cancelled and they tried to charge an extra 70 usd to reschedule. I agreed to pay 35 usd in the end but this was out of my control so it was a bit frustrating to pay more for this tour when I already had to pay for extra accommodation and to delay my return flight in order to take this tour. Secondly, the main reason I booked this tour was to swim with pink dolphins- not only did we not see any pink dolphins, there was no real option to swim in the Amazon at all. When questioned on this, the tour guide offered for me to bathe in the Amazon river just outside the lodge where you do the piranha fishing and I was told I wasn’t allowed to swim. The monkey island is just a couple of free roaming monkey (one of which bit a fellow member of the tour) and then some rescue monkeys which are in a cage at the back. Other than a 40min night walk, which no animals were found, there was no real walk to find any animals in their natural habitat (there is a stop on the way to the lodge where you can see some animals in a sanctuary) Finally, despite booking this tour as it said there was an English speaking tour guide, the tour guides English wasn’t the best and we often struggled to understand each other. This was further an issue when we stopped off at the different islands and there was a speech in Spanish which wasn’t then translated in English as well which meant I left the islands unsure of what was going on. I also asked the tour guide questions on what the birds were in the trees and he didn’t know-something I would expect that should be pretty basic for a tour guide to know. There was also a lot of free time on both days to chill by the pool but for the money I paid, I would’ve hoped for more walks/activities in the jungle. Particularly frustrating on the second day as I was waiting for 4hrs for the boat back to Iquitos Also didn’t catch any piranhas or fish at all and the tour guide lost interest after about 10 mins and was just on his phone. Overall, I don’t believe any of the activities were really as advertised and if I was to do another Amazon jungle tour, I would definitely go with a different tour operator.
