- Blue Mosque - The Blue Mosque, distinguished by its six minarets, was constructed in honor of Sultan Ahmet and served as a traditional starting point for the pilgrimage to Mecca until the 19th century. It is famously known as the BLUE MOSQUE due to its stunning blue Iznik tiles. (Closed on Fridays for Friday Prayer.)
- Topkapi Palace - This grand palace served as the residence of the Ottoman Sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries. It houses a magnificent collection of precious gems, jewelry, thrones, costumes worn by the sultans and their families, miniatures, the Holy Mantle, and the CHAMBER OF SACRED RELICS. (The Harem is not included in the tour and requires an additional entrance fee.)
- Sultanahmet Square - Sultanahmet Square features the OBELISK OF THEODOSIUS, SERPENTINE COLUMN, and the GERMAN FOUNTAIN OF WILHELM II.
- Grand Bazaar - This maze of streets and passages contains over 4000 shops, each trade having its own area, including the goldsmiths’ street, carpet sellers, and Turkish arts and crafts such as hand-painted ceramic plates, hand-honed copperware, brassware and trays, water ewers, onyxware, and meerschaum pipes. (Closed on Sundays, replaced with Arasta Bazaar.)
- Hippodrome - The center of sporting activities, featuring four monuments: The GERMAN FOUNTAIN OF WILHELM II, Egyptian Obelisk, SERPENTINE COLUMN, and the COLUMN OF CONSTANTINE.
- Turbes Museum - The museum contains five tombs of Ottoman Sultans within the graveyard at St. Sophia. The ceramic panels are exquisite examples of 16th-century art, showcasing purple, green, blue, and red floral motifs. Prince robes and a small piece from the Kaaba covers are displayed on the sarcophagi. (If the Sultans’ Tombs are closed on Monday, they are replaced with the Little Hagia Sophia Mosque.)
