This exclusive, artist-led plant-based sushi experience is hosted in our home kitchen and studio. Participants will learn to create various styles of vegetable sushi using seasonal produce and traditional Japanese tools. The selection changes based on available ingredients, but may include nigiri, inarizushi, gunkan, hosomaki, oshizushi, and chirashi-zushi.
The session starts with an introduction to the significance and history of “sushi,” followed by practical instruction on making sushi rice with vinegar. With detailed guidance, participants will craft plant-based sushi and practice using traditional tools, such as Japanese kitchen knives.
“Please be aware: Although all sushi prepared in this class is entirely plant-based, the kitchen and tools are not exclusively vegan and may also be used for non-vegan cooking. All equipment is thoroughly cleaned before use.”
