- Al-Muna Gardens - The day starts with a visit to the stunning Al-Muna Garden, where visitors will hear the remarkable story of Naji Abbas, who crafted this beautiful garden. It won 2nd place in a global competition for the most beautiful garden and is dedicated to his cherished parents, Mona and Rasheed. Through his personal narrative, visitors will gain insights into the Druze community in Israel, his father’s steadfast support for the IDF back in 1948, and various elements of Druze culture.
- Julis - Brunch will be enjoyed at a kosher Druze restaurant founded by Basma Henno in the heart of Julis. The owner, an IDF war widow, named it after her son Noor. The breakfast features local cuisine and produce freshly harvested from nearby fields, served in traditional dishes. Guests will savor Galilean Druze salads, eggs, cheeses, olives, falafel, and more, accompanied by freshly baked Druze pita, concluding with aromatic black coffee.
- Gamila Secret - Following brunch, the journey continues to Grandma Gamila’s soap factory. For over 30 years, Gamila Hiar has utilized her understanding of nature to create products from fifteen healing herbs grown exclusively in the Galilee, combined with pure plant oils, free from artificial colors or fragrances. These include face oils, hand and foot creams, cleansing bars, candles, and more. Gamila employs Druze, Muslim, Christian, and Jewish women and is a global leader in natural beauty products. There will be an opportunity to purchase products if desired.
- Peki’in - The next destination is the ‘Cave of The Rashbi’ - Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai. He and his son, Rabbi Elazar, escaped from the Romans in 149 CE and hid in this cave in Peki’in, surviving on carob tree fruit and spring water. It is believed they remained in the cave for 12 years.
- Peki’in Old Synagogue - The final visit is to the ancient town of Peki’in, inhabited by Jews for 2000 years, though now only one elderly Jewish woman remains. The visitor center narrates the story of this community, who, fleeing the destroyed Temple in 70 CE, settled in Peki’in. Adjacent is the ancient synagogue, featuring two plaques on the wall, recently carbon-dated by the Israel Antiquities Authority to the time when the Cohanim fled Jerusalem to escape the Romans. Legend suggests these plaques were brought from The Second Temple.
