- Mount Rushmore National Memorial - Guests will be picked up from their Rapid City hotel between 7:30-7:45 pm in either a 7 or 12 passenger van, depending on the number of participants. The drive to Mount Rushmore takes approximately 45 minutes. Upon arrival, guests will have 30 minutes to find seating at the amphitheater for the program beginning at 9:00 pm. The event includes a 10-minute Ranger Talk focusing on the four presidents, followed by a 20-minute video highlighting the nation’s development in relation to these leaders. At 9:30 pm, the Star Spangled Banner will be performed as the monument is illuminated. Veterans and military personnel are invited to the stage to assist in retiring the flag and to be honored. The entire program lasts about 45 minutes. Blankets are available in the vans for chilly evenings, but it is advisable to bring a jacket as temperatures drop after sunset. Guests will be returned to Rapid City by approximately 10:45 pm.
