Kigali Genocide Memorial - At 8:30 am, an English-speaking tour guide will pick you up from your hotel, provide a brief orientation, and take you to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. Following this visit, you’ll journey to the eastern region of Rwanda, passing through picturesque landscapes, farmlands, local markets, and communities, en route to Akagera National Park. This park is home to the African Big 5 and a variety of wildlife, with a lunch stop along the way.

Akagera National Park - Upon arrival, enjoy an exciting afternoon game drive where you can see buffalo, antelopes, warthogs, elephants, and zebras.

As evening approaches, embark on a unique night game drive to observe elusive predators such as lions and leopards, all while enjoying breathtaking sunset views. Overnight accommodations are at Akagera Game Lodge.

Akagera National Park - Day 2 in Akagera begins at 7:00 AM with a sunrise boat cruise on Lake Ihema, lasting 1.5 hours. You’ll have the opportunity to see over 50 hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, and zebras. Starting at 9:00 AM, set off on a comprehensive full game drive through Akagera’s diverse African savannah, hills, and jungle.

Spot the African Big 5 (lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinos) along with giraffes, zebras, hippos, and many other mammals.

The park features stunning landscapes with rolling hills, swamps, and water bodies. It’s a haven for birdwatchers, boasting over 500 species, including rare ones like the shoebill stork. Akagera provides a rich array of activities for all nature and wildlife lovers.

Around 4:00 PM, you’ll leave the park for your return journey to Kigali, arriving around 6:15 PM for drop-off at your hotel or the airport.
