Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Volcanoes National Park - Our tour guide will take you on a city excursion in and around Kigali to familiarize you with this remarkable country of a thousand hills. Following the city tour, which may last up to 3 hours, enjoy lunch in Kigali before proceeding to Volcanoes National Park, located north of Ruhengeri. The journey offers stunning views of terraced hills, showcasing Rwanda’s landscape and altitude. By afternoon, in Kinigi, visit the demonstration grounds to learn about the traditional life and history of the Rwandan people. The Iby’lwacu traditional tour provides an engaging interaction between narrators and guests, offering hands-on experiences with traditional skills such as hunting, fire-making, crafting clay pots, and witnessing a dance by the King’s warriors. In the evening, arrive at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Accommodation is at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge.
Gorilla Tracking in Rwanda
Volcanoes National Park - After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for a briefing by Rwanda park officials. Ensure you have your packed lunch and a bottle of water as you embark on your gorilla trekking adventure. The trek is relatively short, typically lasting between 1 to 4 hours. Time spent with the gorillas is limited to 1 hour to support conservation efforts. Later, prepare for your transfer back to Kigali for your international flights, ideally scheduled for late evening departures from Kigali International Airport.
