- Floating Khmer Village Resort - The guide and driver will pick guests up from their hotel and transport them to the starting point in Siem Reap. The adventure begins with a journey to the floating village on the magnificent Tonle Sap Lake. Guests will board a motorized boat that navigates through the canal’s dense vegetation en route to the Mechrey floating village. Upon arrival, safety gear is provided before embarking on fiberglass kayaks. As guests paddle gently through the floating village, they will be greeted with warm smiles from the friendly Cambodian residents who inhabit this remarkable lake. Returning to the Kayak Station, one of the floating houses in Mechrey, guests can enjoy snacks, drinks, and restroom facilities before taking another short motorized boat ride to the mangrove forest. Kayaking through the mangrove forest and birdwatching is the tour’s main attraction (during the low water season from March to June, kayaking occurs in the Open Lake Waters to observe water birds instead). The guide will also share insights into local village customs, and how the residents live, work, and trade, before pausing at a perfect spot for capturing a breathtaking Tonle Sap Lake sunset photo.

Lovely Kayaking tour - We had a lovely tour of the floating village and mangroves on the lake. The guide was excellent and everything was well organised. Perhaps the kayaking could be longer (45 min) and wish the operator offered a loner tour possibly with an overnight stay. Yet overall it was an excellent experience. I recommend it highly .

Loved it! - Zil was an awesome guide. He was very knowledgeable and provided great customer service.
I’d say this type of tour is not for someone who isn’t comfortable in a kayak or an experienced paddler, but they may have tailored the experience to me since I’m comfortable on a kayak. It felt a little invasive paddling around people’s homes but there residents of the village were friendly, and the experience was insightful and respectful. Thanks for the great afternoon, Zil!
