There might also be an introduction to some scents that were prevalent in Ålesund a century ago.
- Aalesund Church - The tour pauses outside the stunning Ålesund church, constructed between 1906-1909, adorned with Norwegian white, red, and black marble.
- Aspøy - The tour continues to the distinctive elementary school, Aspøy, established in 1921 and still operational.
- Brunholmgata - Behind Aspøy school, the tour proceeds down Brunholmgata. From this vantage point, participants can enjoy the view north across the fjord to the islands where some of Norway’s most influential clans resided during the Viking Age. In 1853, this was one of the locations in Norway where the first medical Cod Liver Oil was developed.
- Brosundet i Alesund - The tour stops at the town square by Brosundet/Ålesundet, offering a magnificent view of the sound between Aspøya and Nørvøya. This is an ideal spot for capturing photos of Ålesundet.
- Statute of Joachim Ronneberg - Joachim Rønneberg led perhaps the most significant field operation in Norway during the Second World War.
- Skateflua - At Skateflukaia, participants will hear about the North Sea journey to the Shetland Islands during the Second World War.
- Kongens gate - In Kongens gate, visitors can admire the beautiful Art Nouveau buildings along this pedestrian street. Here, they will find the narrowest house in Ålesund, and possibly in Europe.
- Delicatessen Løvenvold - The tour concludes at this shop, where participants will enjoy two small tastings of Norwegian specialties.
