Fancy's cooking class in Lijiang - We are a family of 4, Fancy met us at the entrance of the local market. The tour and explanations were among the best that we had in these kind of experiences. After buying some products we headed for the practical part. We made 3 dishes which were easy to make after Fancy's explanation. The cold chicken was my favorite and I usually don't eat chicken. Thank you so much

Great market tour with cooking class - I really learned a lot with this tour. Fancy met us at the market and toured us around while buying ingredients for the cooking class. It was a very informative tour. The market was teeming with produce and other things. It was really great to have someone explain things to us. The cooking class was well set up. Nothing too difficult for beginners. The food came out really good too. Overall, very happy with the experience. Highly recommend this activity.

Fun cooking class with Fancy! - A fun thing to do and a welcome break from the rigours of sightseeing at the iconic sites in and around Lijiang. Fancy shares her knowledge on local cuisines as she takes you through Lijiang’s wet market tasting yak butter tea and the local breakfast staple, Lijiang baba. And buying food stuff which you later cook for your Naxi lunch at her home cooking class facility. The menu we had was a delicious chicken salad, rice noodle soup and a yummy fruity faluda for dessert. Easy to make recipes that you can repeat at home. Her husband is a pastry chef and has a cafe next door - for after lunch coffee, though you are unlikely to have much space in your belly. Fancy is generous with the fruit and tea that go with the meal. Totally worth it.

A must try! - After a days of sightseeing, it is refreshing to try hands on class. Nancy thoughtfully introduced us to the region's unique ingredients, shared the fascinating stories behind them, and provided delicious samples for us to taste.
Once in the kitchen, Nancy generously revealed all her secret recipes. Next to kitchen is her family’s bakery, which genuinely offers the best croissants in town—they use imported butter for exceptional flavor and learned from french. Be sure to visit the bakery after your class!
Nancy stands out as an experienced and sincere teacher. Supporting her business is a wonderful way to celebrate local craftsmanship.

Discover Lijiang through its culinary culture! - We loved experiencing the Naxi culinary culture with Fancy.
After the discovery of the largest market in Lijiang, local and daily market with stalls brimming with vegetables and fresh fruits picked that same morning, mushrooms of all kinds including the soul of the forest (photo), peppers, roots, Meat including the black pig. And medicinal plants.
Making our meal in his house with a beautiful bright kitchen, adapted following Fanzi's instructions
Then tasting in the garden of the 3 prepared dishes: refreshing chicken salad, refreshing Naxi soup and delicious mango dessert.

Insightful and delicious experience into the local culture and cuisine - NB: Pour les francophones, Fancy parle couramment français (ainsi qu’anglais)!
We had a great time with Fancy! The market visit gave great insight into the local lifestyle and food (mushrooms, vegetables, alcohols…), away from the busy and touristy streets and with plenty of samples to share. By the end, we had a good grasp on the products that are typical to the region.
As for the cooking session, a great deal of (pre)-preparation from Fancy’s side made it smooth and easy, with a delicious result. Fancy was enthusiastic and generous. We left very full and satisfied!
Overall a great way to discover Lijiang!

Amazing and authentic experience! - We had a wonderful experience! The market was really interesting, and Fancy guided us through the different stalls, letting us taste typical local products. She was very helpful and happy to explain the traditions of the Naxi people. The cooking class was quite easy to follow. Overall, it felt very authentic and I highly recommend it!

Deliciously amazing - Lovely experience to discover Naxi culture through food. You will learn a lot about culinary traditions at the market and cook a delicious meal that is easy to cook and to replicate at home. Fancy host I lovely and kind, I highly recommend it!
