A beautiful day - We did a wonderful tour with Chris on 09.03.2026. He used his wit and expertise to bring us closer to the flora and fauna as well as the land and life there. Important for cruisers: everything was super punctual and very reliable. Thank you very much for this great day.

The perfect excursion in Puerto Limón - We were the last to get off the ship. They waited for us and this magnificent adventure began. From the Tortuguero canal to the fruit stand to the banana plantation to the peanut park, spectacular organization, treatment especially with my young child, good value for money, I totally recommend it.

Most beautiful shore excursion of our Central America cruise thanks to Markus - We had booked the tour as part of our Central America cruise and right at the beginning it should be emphasized: It was our best shore excursion this holiday. The booking process via TripAdvisor was hassle-free. On the positive side, we noticed that although we booked 9 months before, we received an email with all the necessary instructions immediately afterwards. Directly at the port exit, we were met by a sign with our name from Relax Day Tours staff and assigned to our guide, Markus - who was just a lucky shot for us. Markus explained in detail during the trips about the country and people, the local customs and other interesting topics. He was always authentic and highly committed. Whether sailing through the Tortuguero Canals or walking through Cahuita National Park, he was always looking for wildlife to show to his guests. We also loved the fact that he repeatedly exchanged ideas with other guides about interesting animal sightings. The highlight, however, was visiting his own garden with many tropical plants, tasting freshly picked star fruits or cocoa beans, as well as several animals, such as sloths, spiders and snakes. The tour went straight to the canals after the port. The navigation was very interesting, we could see howler monkeys, a sloth, several iguanas as well as a boa, all of which were shown to us by Mark or the ship's captain. Afterwards we drove to a fruit stand where we were allowed to taste several fresh tropical fruits. Pleasant was that, as is otherwise the case, we were not actively approached about sales offers. Afterwards, we drove past the banana plantations, which are no longer allowed to be visited, to the garden and then to the national park, which we used for further animal visits and also for a swim in the tropical warm sea. We can only recommend this tour.

Cruise ship excursion from puerto Limon - Our tour guide, Juan Carlos, made our adventure wonderful. He pointed out many sites and gave us so much information about Limon, Costa Rica. Our boat and bus drivers also did a great job of pointing things out. We saw many beautiful birds, sloths, raccoons, multiple types of monkeys, iguanas, baby alligator, and a beautiful blue butterfly. I would highly recommend this tour.

Sloths - Our guide Gerardo and he was wonderful. He would stop and point out wildlife and plants wherever we were. Would allow time for everyone to see. Great tours. Bring your rain gear if it is cloudy. We were on a cruise. The vehicle was parked next to a little park. And in the trees, sloths. Spend some extra time before or after in the park looking for sloths.

Great tour with a Great guide. - This tour is run by Relax Day. We were sent a message immediately after booking to let us know where to meet. Our names were printed on a paper along with other cruise ship passengers so it was easy to find the tour leader, Juan Carlos or JC. He was knowledgeable and informative throughout the 6+ hours. We started in Puerto Limon in the small tour bus (15 of us) but it was comfortable. Bottled water was provided. We were quite lucky to have JC as he was kind and considerate. We were never confused or unsure what's next. The first stop was a boat ride in the canal to spot the wildlife. The boat was comfortable and the captain had incredible trained eyes to spot wildlife. JC worked with him to find animals and he knows the differences between all the animals we observed from 100+ yds out. He had a laser pointer to help us find them through the trees. We then went to the fruit stand which was a bit chaotic with all other tour buses arriving at the same time. But again, JC led us there with clear directions and gave us specific time and place to meet. He made sure we were able to sample many types of fruit. On our way to the national park, the bus driver spotted a group of monkeys in the distance so we stopped to take pictures and again JC ensured that we were safe since we pulled over on a busy road. We then stopped at a small banana farm so JC can explain the process of the banana harvest. After that, we went to the national park where we walked on a paved path to try to spot more wildlife and learn about local vegetation. We ate lunch on our own outside the national park and it was delicious. JC recommended the gelato shop at the entrance and it was very tasty. We stopped at a supermarket to buy Costa Rican products (coffee, chocolate, etc). JC made sure we knew what we were buying and they were locally produced. We took many excursions on our 12 day cruise and this is, by far the best tour with the best guide. JC took pride in his country and always have our best interest at heart. A couple people in the group were concerned about the time and JC checked with them before making another stop on the way back to the ship so they felt comfortable that we won't miss the ship. We knew we were fine, but not everyone had the same sense of comfort. We highly recommend this tour if you have about 6-8 hr in Puerto Limon. Look for Relax Day and try to see if Juan Carlos is your guide. You will not be disappointed. As I get older, I have less patience for poor service. This tour is worth every penny. They can't guarantee what you will see but if we didn't see much, it was miles above the other tours we have taken.
