Fund Tours - Oak Alley was a beautiful place and the tour guide was well spoken as well as knowledgeable. The Airboat tour was fun and the boat driver was very familiar with the local animals. Quite enjoyable.

It’s a long day due to... - It’s a long day due to the driving but well worth it! The oak trees steal my heart every time. If you have seen a plantation, there is nothing spectacular about this one. Guide was wonderful and knowledgeable. The swamp ride at Louisiana swamp tour w captain Dewey was fun! You can tell he has a great love for gators. His coworker was pretty cool too! 😉

A great day outside of NOLA - The plantation was fascinating and I was very interested in the explanations of the family history, and how slavery was a part of it. The airboat was incredible. It was great to be on the water on a hot day, and we had various alligator experiences throughout the ride.

So much to learn and see - The grounds were very beautiful, but it was somewhat of a somber place and kind of sad. We do think of slavery as part of our history but… Do we really know history? Some of the displays were just very shocking. Shocking to know that humans were actually treated this way. Very eye-opening. On a more positive note though he tour guides we very informative and helpful and we did grab lunch at the gift center which was pretty good. Nothing fancy sandwiches.

Highs and Lows - I enjoyed this tour, but we were rushed through the plantation. The best part of the plantation - the tour inside the house- was disappointing because the elder tour guide was almost impossible to understand due to his heavy accent. He also turned away from half the group a lot, and he wasn't speaking loud enough, so I missed the majority of what he said. And he rushed us because the next group was close behind, so we couldn't really look at anything in depth - just a quick glance at things. The Swamp tour was FANTASTIC! Don't bother bringing a hat, though, it won't stay on during the boat trip. Due to the poor plantation tour guide, and the fact that the bus taking us back to NOLA was 20-30 minutes late (after another bus left [with plenty of open seats available] and the driver told us to wait for a different bus), I gave this 3 stars.
