Javier and Gloria were... - Javier and Gloria were great tour guides for our family. It can get chilly on the carts but they provided blankets. It’s a good way to see the city quickly and get a history lesson.

Personal and welcoming - We did the 4-hour tour the day after our arrival. It was rainy and cold so this was a perfect way to get oriented in a somewhat comfortable manner. But what really made the trip special was our guide Clara. She was very friendly and talkative and allowed me to ask 1001 questions as we tried to really dig deep into the cultural aspects of Madrid. She shared so much about herself and her family that made us feel welcomed and trusted. And her knowledge of history is amazing. She was completely flexible to our preferences (e.g., lingering in the cathedral, stopping for a cappuccino,…). We were lucky that traffic wasn’t bad. I can see that might have been an issue for tuk tuk tours.

Not what we hoped for, but still worthwhile. - The historic tour is interesting is you haven’t seen Spain, but the views are a bit lackluster if you seek to capture buildings with unique architectural elements. We may have taken an uncommon route, due to protests, but our path did feel like it was the older parts of town. The benefits was that we went and saw places we might not have felt safe venturing on foot. The guide was pleasant and informative, showing us places where the locals visit as well as some of the tourist attractions. This tour might be a good option, if you have a couple of days remaining to return to some of the places shown, as the tour itself felt a bit rushed. Overall, we felt the tour was worth the time. BTW: Given the rain and cooler weather, we appreciated the blankets provided by our driver.

Not happy as wanted to go to Temple Debot for sure which is historic from 2 nd century and have been moved from Egypt - Ariana, our tour guide was good. We have one complaint about Viator for misleading that this tour contains visit to temple Debot. Ad we searched for it before booking the tickets, which was $211.45 for 2 people. When we went to temple Debot, we found out that the tickets are free but have to be booked ahead on line. Viator should have booked it or informed us beforehand. The gatekeeper told us that the tickets are booked for the whole day now. Stone time only 8-25 people can go for up to 30 minutes.

Disorganized, uncomfortable, and disappointing experience - This was easily one of the worst tours we’ve taken, and we’ve done tours all over the world. To start, the meeting point was extremely difficult to find. The address provided is not where you actually meet. It took us 30 minutes just to locate the tuk tuk, and only because a kind stranger walked us down an unmarked, dark staircase into what felt like a hidden underground parking area. Without that help, we would have never found it. That alone set the tone. Once the tour began, things didn’t improve. The driver mostly took us in circles with very little meaningful commentary about Madrid. Landmarks were pointed out briefly, with little to no explanation of their historical or cultural significance. There was no sense of storytelling, no depth, and no reason given for why we were even slowing down at certain places. This was a family booking with three tuk tuks running simultaneously, and no one in our group had a positive experience. In one of the other vehicles, the seating was so cramped and uncomfortable that passengers were hunched over with their heads pressed into the canopy for nearly two hours. To make matters worse, the tour was cut short due to the Holy Week procession. While that’s understandable in itself, the company clearly knew in advance that delays and route changes would be required. There was no contingency plan, no adjustment, and no effort to make up for the lost time or experience. We’ve taken tours in many countries, and they usually offer a thoughtful mix of history, storytelling, architecture, culture, and even helpful local and culinary insights. This tour had none of that. It felt unprepared, rushed, and honestly like the guide was just going through the motions. Madrid is a city with over a thousand years of rich history. There is no shortage of stories to tell. Unfortunately, this company didn’t deliver on any of it. I would not recommend Ego Tuk Tuk Tours.
