Experience walking on ancient lava flows and discover the ever-evolving landscape of this living volcano.
Beginning at the Piano Provenzana tourist station, situated approximately 1800 meters above sea level, the journey continues with an Etna off-road bus, authorized by the Etna Park Authority, through ancient lava flows and past extinct craters, reaching the Volcanological Observatory built in 1977 at about 2850 meters above sea level. From this point, a 15-minute hike leads to the promontory of Pizzi Deneri, offering a panoramic view of the Sicilian coast. Additionally, enjoy a safe, close-up view of the central volcanic cone and its main craters.
On the return trip, there will be a stop at 1,900 meters to further explore the area.
