Explore Materuni one day with Issah. - We did this activity with Issah the professional guide. It was amazing. We started from Arusha to Materuni for around a little over 2 hours, but talking with Issah time passed really quickly. The materuni waterfalls were really pretty and Issah proved to be a good guide, we then shared with another group a very good lunch and learned a lot about coffee making, it was fun and entertaining, we really had the best time with Kibo Mawenzi Safaris.

Authentic & refreshing day. - We explored our last day with a full refreshment. After the dust and excitement of the safari, the visit to Materuni Falls and the coffee tour felt like a deep breath of fresh air. The hike was lush and green, a complete departure from the savannah, and the waterfall was powerful and soothing at the same time. The coffee experience was wonderfully hands-on - from roasting to grinding and tasting. Sharing it with my girlfriend made it even more special. This experience was the perfect mix of nature, culture, and pure joy - and definitely one of the most fun parts of our trip. Thank Kibo team they really well organized for us.

Wonderful day with full of peace. - My wife and I loved how our guide shared stories about the land, the people, and their traditions. The waterfall itself was breathtaking, loud, and powerful, yet calming at the same time. Our participation in the coffee process was unexpectedly fun-pounding beans, laughing at our technique, and finally tasting the result. Really it was our very refreshing and enjoyable day and it perfectly organized Kibo Mawenzi Safaris, they were really amazing.

Our unforgettable 1-day peaceful trip in pure nature - This 1-day trip touched us beyond our expectations. From the early morning pickup, everything felt smooth and welcoming by Kibo Mawenzi. The village of Materuni was full of life, culture, and beautiful views at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. The hike to the waterfall was refreshing and standing under the powerful water made us feel connected to nature. Learning about the Chaga tradition was a special moment, especially the coffee-making process where everyone laughed, danced, and participated. The lunch was simple but delicious, made even more beautiful by the surroundings. The Chemka Hot Spring was the perfect ending, allowing us to completely relax in the warm, clear waters. This experience wasn’t just about the sights – it was about the connection, the culture, and the shared memories. A truly meaningful day & a big appreciation to Kibo Mawenzi Safaris team for well decorated our whole day, that we will always remember.

The day experience was authentic, memorable and fun - Our vacation in Materuni was one of the most refreshing experiences of our trip. And the Kibo team's contribution to making this trip interesting is huge. Started with Mwangi Evans our exploring. The hike through the forest felt peaceful, with tall trees, fresh air, and glimpses of Mount Kilimanjaro behind us. As we reached Materuni Waterfalls, the view was incredible-the long drop of water surrounded by green cliffs looked almost unreal. We took a dip despite the chilly water, laughing at how cold it was. The cultural tour with the Chagga people was warm and welcoming. We joined in roasting coffee beans, grinding them by hand, and tasting the final brew. Their banana beer added a fun twist. Lunch with freshly cut fruits tasted amazing after the walk Finally we visited Kikuletwa Hot Spring, a natural pool with clear water and roots hanging overhead. The tiny fish that gently nibbled at our feet made us smile. The whole day felt balanced and full of excitement.

Our last day was wonderful. - Our day trip Materuni Waterfall was special with Kibo Mawenzi team gave us what we expected. Our guide shared stories about the Chagga community, which made the experience even richer. Trying their banana beer was a fun surprise, but the highlight was joining the traditional coffee-making process. There's something unforgettable about drinking coffee we have helped roast and grind by hand. Lunch in the village was fresh and comforting, especially with the local fruits. Later, we headed to Kikuletwa Hot Springs, where the turquoise water looked almost unreal. Floating in the warm pool, with tiny fish gently nibbling at our feet, was such a unique way to relax after the hike. It was a full day of nature, culture, and pure calm. We felt untouched and incredibly peaceful.

It was our truly a day filled with nature connection and joy. - Our full-day trip to Materuni was easily one of the highlights of our time near Kilimanjaro. Kibo Mawenzi Safaris team picked us early from our hotel and driven to the village, where the cool morning air and lush rainforest set the tone for an amazing day. The hike felt peaceful and refreshing, with stunning views at every turn. We loved learning about the Chagga people, especially tasting their traditional banana beer and taking part in the hands-on coffee process-from roasting to brewing. Sharing that final cup felt incredibly rewarding. Lunch in the village, paired with fresh fruits, was simple yet delicious. Afterward, we headed to Kikuletwa Hot Springs, which felt like a hidden oasis. The crystal-clear water, warm temperatures, and tiny fish nibbling at our feet made the experience both relaxing and fun. It was the perfect way to unwind after the hike. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area.
