Excellent Guide, Great Afternoon - Almost immediately after we entered the equipment shed to get outfitted in dry suits, we knew we were in excellent hands. Sebastian radiated warmth and confidence, but most of all he practically glowed with the bright light of competence. Once we got out on the water, those first impressions proved themselves to be accurate. Easy going yet focused, he prioritized safety without abandoning a sense of fun and engagement for those of us in his afternoon group. Our experience paddling in the glacial bay led to dynamic conversations about climate-induced glacial recession, surrounding geography of the valley and outflow plain, and inevitably an amusing recollection of previous expeditions, excursions, and adventures in the back country. Sebastian made the trip memorable in so many ways, and we came away from the adventure certain that there were deep reservoirs of knowledge he could offer. It’s a pleasure to share our extremely positive review of his tour, and it would be a privilege to head out into the outdoors with him again.

Great experience & professional and personable group leader - Seeing the glacier on a kayak was an awesome experience - quite a perspective. Our small group had Fernanda as a group leader and she made us feel comfortable immediately! Starting with putting on all the safety gear and from there we headed to the lagoon. Two of the participants were beginners, she made sure they were safe all along the tour. We learned several things about the glacier's history and safety around it while on the water. She went over and above - helping me with the parking system... which is really not on the job description and she was so nice about it, Thank you! I strongly recommend this tour and hopefully you get Fernanda as a leader as well!

An experience of a lifetime - We kayaked here the day after we kayaked the much more famous Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, and even though Jokulsarlon gave us a sunny day, this is the experience we will treasure the most. Many things made the difference: This excursion is over twice as long (but costs a little less). You actually get to paddle around -- and touch -- the icebergs. (Despite promo photos, the Jukulsarlon guide warned us that the icebergs there are too unsteady and dangerous to get near, and we were never close.) You get to paddle near the face of the glacier -- an incredible experience! (Jukulsaron Glacier is 5 kilometers from the lagoon.) And perhaps most important of all, our Solheimajokull guide, Fernanda, was amazing. She leads these tours 2-3 times a day, but you never felt like she was "phoning it in" (unlike our Jukulsarlon guide). She was so friendly, engaging, and informative, and she just brimmed with so much fun energy. She also made a point of capturing wonderful photos of all the participants (again, unlike the Jukulsarlon guide), which have turned into treasured vacation keepsakes. Fernanda also brought relevance to the excursion: This lagoon is less than 20 years old -- the result of global warming -- and it was sobering to experience the effects. Despite this bittersweetness, I will never forget the sound of the boat gliding through ice chunks or the awe I felt paddling so close to a glacier. (Though not too close ... Safety was the priority here.) Definitely visit Jukulsarlon, but this is the kayaking experience I will savor for a lifetime!

a great Kayak teacher - Kayaking on a glacier in Iceland is already an amazing experience, but with Sebastian as guide it became truly unforgettable. His knowledge of the place is impressive, and that along with a close treatment and good humor that makes the tour enjoyable and incredible. In addition, there was a passion for his work and his commitment to respect for the environment, which made the excursion of value beyond. In short, an excellent, professional and passionate guide. If you have the opportunity to make this excursion with Sebastian, do not hesitate. I would definitely recommend it to everyone!!
