Challenging but rewarding hike - This is an extremely challenging hike, but rewarding. It was cloudy at the top, but beautiful views on the way up and the way down. The La Union trail offered great views of the entire island. Our guide was very kind and a true mountain goat - he was patient to help and wait for us, I’m sure he could have hiked the volcano in half the time we took. For those who complain their guide wasn’t fluent in English, remember you are in their country, not yours and appreciate the culture.

A very friendly and profressional team that I would recommend to anyone - My husband and I hiked Concepcion and Maderas with Happy Tours. Both Hector and Donald were great guides. The weather was not great but both guides were patient with us as we navigated the difficult terrain. Donald’s communication before the hikes was great - he was very responsive on WhatsApp to all of my questions and arranging the hikes. I would definitely recommend.

Exhausting, but beautiful! - Very nice but also strenuous tour. The wind at the top is crazy. You set your own pace. Sandwich & water were provided to us. Pick-up & return transport worked well.

Best hike in Nicaragua - What a hike and what a guide !! Shout out to Den, most amazing guide ! The hike was difficult but the reward was worth it. Climbing to the top of a volcano from the ground.

Eraldo is a great guide - We had a blast with Eraldo! Young, charming and well behaved guide. The hiking was hard, but worthy. We didn’t have a great view once on the summit because of the weather and the clouds, but still it was amazing!

Challenging but worth it!! - This hike is VERY challenging, but so rewarding! It is steep, and I did need to use my hands in certain sections as my legs began to tire (still sore 2 days later!). We completed the hike (up & down) in just under 7h with breaks. Donald was a wonderful guide! He was great at keeping me on pace! He also encouraged me to practice my Spanish throughout which was fun! Would absolutely recommend to anyone in good physical condition who is up to the challenge. The top is really spectacular, especially if you are lucky to get a clear view.

If you’re looking for a... - If you’re looking for a challenging hike in Ometepe, this is a challenge for you! Donald hiked this route many times and knew how to navigate through to volcano the peak. Prepared with first aid kit, and food. If you’re not fluent in Spanish, he speaks English very well! Highly recommend!

We had a great time... - We had a great time hiking the vulcano and saw two types of monkeys. You can smell the sulfur at the top and lunch is included.

Paid a lot for the hike. ... - Paid a lot for the hike. The score reflects this. Guide was a good person but 50% fluent in English. Not much value to the hike.
