Departure is at 8:30 a.m., and the journey will include passing by several Munich landmarks, which the guide will describe, en route to Eagles Nest/Obersalzberg. Remember to bring your passport!
- The Eagle’s Nest - Upon reaching the Obersalzberg parking area, follow your tour guide to the special bus departure point. After the guide collects the skip-the-line tickets for the group, you will board the red special buses for a 15-minute ride up the mountain. Upon arrival, walk through the tunnel to the original lift, which takes you directly to the Eagle’s Nest (now a restaurant). On a clear day, the view from 1834 meters is breathtaking.
- Obersalzberg - After returning to the parking lot via the shuttle bus, enjoy some free time before the tour bus departs for Berchtesgaden. During this period, you can have lunch at the “Berggasthof Obersalzberg” (at your own expense) or visit the Obersalzberg Documentation Center. The restaurant is situated in the terrace hall of the historic “General Walker” hotel on the Obersalzberg.
- Dokumentationszentrum Obersalzberg - The Obersalzberg Museum offers an insightful exhibition on Obersalzberg’s role as a power center during the Nazi era. It reopened in 2023 after renovations and expansion. Visitors can also explore the Nazi-era bunker complexes. Admission is included in the special bus tour price.
- Berchtesgaden - After a brief drive, the tour bus will stop in the heart of Berchtesgaden. An experienced tour guide will lead a walking tour, highlighting key sights and sharing the history of Berchtesgaden over 20–30 minutes. Following an additional 30 minutes of free time in town, all participants will reconvene at the bus for the return journey at approximately 5:15 p.m.
