Nairobi to Maasai Mara (Approximately 5-6 hours drive)

Maasai Mara National Reserve - At 8:00 AM, guests will be picked up from their hotel in Nairobi city center/Westlands and begin the journey to Maasai Mara. The drive includes a stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, offering a stunning view of the valley floor. Visitors will see the semi-active Mt. Longonot and two dormant volcanic mountains, Mt. Suswa and Mt. Margaret, for about 10 minutes. Arrival is scheduled in time for lunch, followed by hotel check-in. At 4:00 PM, guests will depart for a two-hour game drive in the Mara Reserve, concluding at 6:00 PM. Entry fees can be paid at the gate or given to the driver upon pickup. The day ends with a delicious dinner and relaxation at the camp.

Full Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara Reserve (2-3 hours drive depending on animals)

Maasai Mara National Reserve - After an early breakfast at 6:30 AM, guests will embark on a full-day game viewing adventure. Park fees can be paid in cash at the gate or given to the driver upon pickup. This day is crucial as it offers the chance to see the Big Five, especially the elusive big cats. The itinerary includes a visit to the famous Mara River, where the great migration occurs, and a guided tour by rangers to observe Nile crocodiles and hippo families. A picnic lunch under a tree in the park, overlooking the vast landscapes, adds to the experience.

The Mara is renowned for hosting one of nature’s most spectacular events: the great migration. This annual migration involves millions of wildebeest and zebras moving from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture, followed by savanna predators such as lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and vultures.

Depart Maasai Mara to Nakuru (4-5 hours depending on traffic)

Lake Nakuru - Guests will enjoy an early breakfast at 6:30 AM, with an optional visit to a Maasai village available at an additional cost. The drive to Nakuru will commence, with arrival expected in the late evening, followed by hotel check-in.

Nakuru to Nairobi (2-3 hours depending on traffic)

Lake Nakuru - After an early breakfast, guests will check out and depart by 7:00 AM directly to the park. Park fees can be paid using a credit card at the gate. This small park is home to magnificent, rare white rhinos, part of the Big Five. There is also a chance to see pink flamingos. The game drive lasts three hours, after which guests will embark on a three-hour drive back to Nairobi, arriving around 3:00 PM.
