Lake Nakuru National Park - After an early breakfast in Masai Mara, depart for Lake Nakuru, embarking on an interesting drive through the scenic valleys of the Mau forest, enjoying beautiful views of rural farms dotted with wheat, corn, potatoes, and vegetables. The Mau escarpment is considered Kenya’s breadbasket. Arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive follows in this magnificent park, known for its large number of flamingos that form a pink flamboyance on the lake’s banks. Look out for Rhinos, Buffalos, Giraffes, Zebras, Elands, and a wide variety of other grazing herbivores. You might also spot a pride of lions, a pack of hyenas, jackals, or the ultimate prize in this park: the elusive Leopard. Enjoy a rich variety of birds until sunset, then head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha to Nairobi

Lake Naivasha - After breakfast in Lake Nakuru, load up the vehicle for an en-route game drive as you exit the park, focusing on any wildlife that may have been missed the previous day. Exit the park for a smooth drive to Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake set on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Explore the lake in a motorized boat; the 1-hour boat excursion will bring you closer to a pod of hippopotamuses and allow you to access part of the 400 bird species found in this lake. Some bird species seen here include the African fish eagle, Great cormorant, Goliath heron, Giant Kingfisher, spoonbills, storks, and geese. Experience close proximity to a wide range of wild animals grazing by the lake’s banks. Return to the mainland and embark on the journey back to Nairobi, arriving by the evening.
