Holy moly Lava chicken is delicious - Well informed tour guides and driver. Gave us an excellent overview of all the places we visited and answered every question. Even when one of our kids had motion sickness, the guides went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable.

Went with the small group... - Went with the small group tour and had a fantastic day! There were only four of us plus driver and tour leader Carmelo. His knowledge and passion for Mt Etna shone through and he gave us so much information that we really got to appreciate and respect the volcano and how it shaped the region, physically and economically. He answered all our questions and was helpful with suggestions. With only 4 Carmelo was able to adjust the tour timing based on what we wanted to see, and give us extra time so we could walk both craters. Definitely wear runners if you want to climb the upper crater and have a windbreaker handy. Then we were off to Taormina where he gave us a map, pointed out spots to see and eat and we had time to explore the town.
As for Discover Messina, I have never had such great communication from a tour company before. After I booked they told me to download the app where I could message them any questions I had, they asked about our activity level and food allergies. They also sent reminders.
Of course we were back to the ship in plenty of time to board.
Overall an excellent day!

Great guides and good spot for food, shopping and nature. - Carmelo and Giancarlo were fantastic. Carmelo was very knowledgeable about the geology and mythology regarding Etna, kept wary of our time but gave us enough to hike up the crater for pictures. The grappa and honey from the winery was great and Taormina was my favorite spot in Italy so far. Carmelo advised us on where to find the best Arancini and let us try the local desserts.

Liked it - Had a great time with our guide. Very informative and gave the history of Mt Etna. Taromina is a small town that is walkable and beautiful

Very good for a one day trip - Serena guided us to the top of mount Etna with a stop to sample local honey along the way to the top, then visited the scenic town of Taormina with many great views and local shops

Excellent cruise excursion with teens - Excellent tour great instructions meeting us from Cruise. Tour guide soo passionate gave us loads of information about the area and Etna. Really good little stops and great food recommendations in the town. It was our favourite trip of our cruise. Teens wanted to give more than 5 stars!

Firstly our guide ... - Firstly our guide Carmelo was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and gave us lots of information. He made the trip interesting and exciting. Mount Etna was incredible and definitely worth seeing. Taormina was a beautiful place.

Brilliant trip, amazing experience - There were a few craters and many places to walk up. There's also a cable car. Cafés and gift shops. The place was amazing. You didn't have to walk up anywhere so if walking is a bit difficult you could see views as you're driven up Mount Etna.

Pleasant Day Trip - Nice day trip from the cruise port to the craters, it was a bit of a drive though. The stop along the way to taste different olive oils and honey was ok, but the people who ran the place were not friendly at all, you'd think they would at least smile or thank you if you purchase something but no. I wish we had more time in Taormina, we felt rushed to get back to the bus. Our guide Sarena was very nice, passed out a treat along the way and gave us some interesting information and facts . Overall we had a pleasant day and I would recommend this excursion
