Negombo Beach - Upon arrival at Colombo CMB airport, you will be warmly greeted by the tour leader and transferred to your hotel. (Alternatively, pick-up can be arranged from any hotel in Colombo or Negombo.) The first stop is the coastal town of Negombo, renowned as Sri Lanka’s most popular beach, famous for its golden sands, delicious food, and vibrant atmosphere. No activities are planned for the first day, allowing you to arrive in Sri Lanka at your convenience. If your flight arrives early, enjoy relaxing on the beach or by the pool at your comfortable hotel.

SIGIRIYA ROCK FORTRESS
Kurunegala - En route, enjoy a scenic stop at the Kurunegala View Point, offering panoramic views of the town and its surroundings, perfect for photos and a short break. Afterwards, take a leisurely stroll around the serene Kurunegala Lake.
Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - In the afternoon, visit the renowned Sigiriya Rock Fortress (UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE), the ideal time to capture the stunning sunset scenery. King Kasyapa (477 – 495 BC) built his palace atop this rock, adorning its sides with colorful frescoes. Sigiriya holds its secrets tightly; reaching the top requires climbing a series of steep staircases. Along the way, you’ll encounter remarkable frescoes and a pair of colossal lion paws carved into the bedrock.

Ritigala Forest Monastery - Begin your day with a visit to the ancient Ritigala Monastery, a hidden gem nestled within a protected forest reserve.

Golden Temple of Dambulla - After breakfast, visit the Dambulla Rock Temple (UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE). Dambulla is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka, cherished by many kings since the 1st century B.C. The rock towers 160m above the surrounding plains and houses five cave temples with unique and significant historical drawings. The murals cover an area of 2100 square meters, depicting the temptation of the demon Mara and Buddha’s first sermon.
Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic - Proceed to Kandy, the capital of the last Sinhalese kingdom. Set on a plateau surrounded by mountains, home to tea plantations and biodiverse rainforests, Kandy is also famous for its sacred Buddhist sites, including the Temple of the Tooth Relic (UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE).
ROYAL BOTANICAL GARDEN / CULTURAL SHOW
Royal Botanical Gardens - After breakfast, visit the Peradeniya Botanical Garden, one of the finest botanical gardens in Asia. The Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya attract 2 million visitors annually and are renowned for their orchid collection. The garden includes over 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants, and palm trees, spanning a total area of 147 acres.
Kandy - In the afternoon, enjoy free time to explore Kandy’s city center at your own pace. Wander through the vibrant streets, visit local markets, or relax by the scenic Kandy Lake, soaking in the charm of this historic hill capital.
HILL-COUNTRY TEA PLANTATIONS AND WATERFALLS
Pedro Tea Factory - Next, visit a tea plantation (ADMISSION FEES INCLUDED). Sri Lanka, tea, and tourism are inseparable. Explore the cool, misty hills that host lush green tea plantations. Step into the tea factory where the prestigious Ceylon Tea is processed, observing a rich tradition kept alive to this day.
