The tour extends beyond the archaeological park into the Borghetto of Ostia, a beautifully preserved medieval citadel surrounded by fortified walls and highlighted by a stunning 15th-century Renaissance castle commissioned by Pope Julius II.

Wonderful tour! Very nice weather in October! - We visited Ostia Antica as a family with older children and had a wonderful experience. The site is incredibly impressive, with vast, well-preserved ruins that really bring ancient Roman life to light. Walking through the amphitheater, baths, and marketplaces was both educational and engaging for all of us. Our guides were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and at the same time very friendly and approachable, which made the tour enjoyable and easy to follow. Ending the visit in the charming medieval Borghetto and sharing a delicious Italian gelato was the perfect finale to a memorable day. Highly recommended for families and history lovers alike!

Very informative and interesting. - We visited Ostia Antica as an elderly couple and found the experience truly rewarding. Although there is some walking involved, the tour never felt tiring and was very well paced. The vast archaeological park, with its remarkably well-preserved ruins, amphitheater, baths, and marketplaces, offers a fascinating insight into ancient Roman life. The guides were highly professional, knowledgeable, and wonderfully friendly, always attentive and clear in their explanations. Reaching Ostia Antica from Rome by public transportation was easy and convenient. The peaceful countryside setting and the final walk through the medieval Borghetto made the day both relaxing and memorable. A delightful and well-organized tour.

Our best experience in Ostia - We had a fantastic time exploring Ostia Antica as a couple. The ruins are remarkably well preserved and the atmosphere is truly unique. Our guides were very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly, making the experience both informative and enjoyable. The walk through the medieval Borghetto and the gelato were a lovely way to end the tour. Highly recommended!

The ruins are incredibly well preserved, and wandering through the old streets, baths, and amphitheater felt both romantic and adventurous. Wonderful trip - We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Ostia Antica as a middle-aged couple. The vast archaeological park is fascinating and wonderfully preserved, offering a peaceful yet immersive journey into ancient Roman life. Ostia Antica - We visited Ostia Antica as a family with two teenagers, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The site is enormous and full of incredibly well-preserved Roman ruins — the amphitheater, the baths, and the old marketplaces really brought history to life in a way our kids found engaging and fun. Walking through the ancient streets felt like exploring a real open-air museum without the crowds of central Rome.The tour ended in the charming Borghetto, a medieval citadel with ancient walls and a 15th-century castle. It was a beautiful spot to relax, and sharing an authentic Italian gelato there made the perfect finale with our great tour guides. A great experience for families, especially with curious teens who enjoy hands-on history and wide-open spaces.

Chiara and Federico are the guides to have for this tour! Highly recommended - Visiting Ostia Antica feels like stepping back into the heart of ancient Rome. This vast archaeological park — the largest in Europe — offers remarkably well-preserved ruins, from the amphitheater and baths to bustling marketplaces that once powered the Roman Empire’s trade and commerce. Surrounded by peaceful countryside, the site is both impressive and atmospheric.The tour ends in the charming Borghetto, a medieval citadel enclosed by 9th-century walls and a 15th-century castle with a perfectly preserved round tower. Here, enjoying a traditional Italian gelato is the perfect way to wrap up the visit. A unique and memorable experience for history lovers and curious travelers alike.
