Sarazm is an ancient town dating back to the 4th millennium BCE and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was the first city in Central Asia to establish economic relations with a network of settlements spanning a vast area from the Turkmenistan steppes and the Aral Sea (northwest) to the Iranian Plateau and the Indus (south and southeast).
Rudaki, a pioneer of classical Persian literature, composed poems in the modern Persian alphabet. He was the first to combine roles such as musician, poet, declaimer/reciter, and copyist in the 9th-century royal court. The museum is particularly interesting for its display of textiles and costumes, frescoes from Ancient Penjikent, and Neolithic tools from nearby Sarazm.

Seven stunning lakes, each with a unique color – First lake named Mijgon, second Soya, third Husher, fourth Nofin, fifth Khurdak, sixth Marguzor, seventh Hazorchashma. There are many places worldwide where nature displays its incredible beauty, but Haftkul Valley (Seven Lake) is exceptional. Set against a magnificent backdrop at the foot of snowy mountains, surrounded by woods, under a clear blue sky, the lakes exhibit iridescent water ranging from gentle green to deep lilac. The lowest lake is at an altitude of 1,598m, the second at 1,701m, and so on, each lake being higher, more beautiful, and more remote than the last, with the final lake over 2,400m above sea level. Iskanderkul Lake is one of Tajikistan’s iconic sights. A trip to Tajikistan is incomplete without visiting Iskanderkul Lake, akin to visiting Paris without seeing the Eiffel Tower. Conveniently located just 130 km from Dushanbe, Iskanderkul Lake is a crater lake formed after a rock fall. It sits at 2,195 meters above sea level, reaching a depth of 72 meters with an area of 3.4 square km. Swimming is possible, and many tourists enjoy the pebbled beaches in summer, but 10 meters from the shore, the waterfall temperature drops rapidly to approximately 10 degrees Celsius.
Beautiful Alaudin Lake (2,780m) is a splendid camping spot and a potential base for exploring the Fan Mountains. Surrounded by mountains over 5,000m, Mutnye (‘Muddy’) Lake (3,510m) is a popular day hike. Marquzor lakes, also known as “Seven beauties of Shing,” are located in the Hissar range of the Fann Mountains about 50km from Penjikent. The lakes are primarily filled with meltwater from glaciers in the valley’s upper reaches. The lakes appear in the following order: Mijgon at 1,640 m, Saya at 1,740 m, Gushor, Nofin at 1,820 m, Hurdak at 1,870 m, Marguzor at 2,140 m, and Hazorchashma. The Fann Mountains are a breathtaking mountain range in the Western Pamir, approximately halfway between Samarkand and Dushanbe, in Western Tajikistan. Most of the range rises above 4,000m, with several peaks exceeding 5,000m. With easy access from Samarkand or Dushanbe to Penjikent, the gateway town, and no additional permissions required, the Fanns are a paradise for hikers and climbers. The highest peak of the Fann Mountains is Chimtarga at 5,489m. In the same area, other 5,000m peaks include Bodkhona, Chapdara, Big Hansa, Little Hansa, Zamok, and the formidable Energia. Several trekking routes start at different trailheads (e.g., Artush, Alaudin Camp, Iskander Kul, Marguzor Lakes) are available. Many passes are traversable by pack animals (though not all). - Departure / arrival in Dushanbe, accommodation in hotel
