On this expedition, we journey across the mountainous terrain, entering the misty wilderness known as the cloud forest where guided hikes will grant us glimpses of diverse birds, exotic orchids, and potentially even monkeys. After an overnight stay in our private Rainforest lodge, we press on, journeying three hours by boat to the Amazon lodge nestled deep within the jungle and making a stop at thermal springs along the route. Our night will be spent in a treehouse situated near a mammal’s clay lick, providing the opportunity to spot tapirs, deer, and other wildlife. The next day, we delve into the untouched primary rainforest with its variety of monkeys, parrot species, and a wealth of plant life including immense trees, palms, and medicinal flora. A nocturnal walk wraps up the day’s adventures as we seek out spiders (including tarantulas), numerous insects, amphibians, and reptiles. The final day sees us journeying back to Cusco by boat and bus.
