This hiking trail was once an ancient route, as its name suggests (“old walk” in Greek), used for trade. Much of its path aligns with the historic road that linked Minoa to Aegiali. Visitors can also explore the renowned Monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa, the second oldest monastery in Greece. This trail offers an opportunity to experience the untamed beauty of Amorgian nature while learning about the island’s rich cultural and historical legacy. It is the most popular long-distance hiking route in Amorgos, traversing the mountain crest at an elevation of approximately 400 meters.
