PUNTA ARENAS TO PUERTO NATALES

Punta Arenas - The tour may commence from either the airport or the city of Punta Arenas.

After a brief city tour, the journey continues to the Cross Hill lookout, offering an introduction to the stunning landscape that includes Punta Arenas, the Strait of Magellan, and the Island of Tierra del Fuego.

Costanera de Punta Arenas - A drive leads to a short walk along the waterfront promenade, where visitors can observe seabirds such as Rock Cormorants, Olivaceous Cormorants, and Imperials. This area was once a bustling pier with hundreds of people arriving from various countries.

Other interesting species like Two-banded Plovers, Skuas, and Dolphin Gulls may also be spotted. The walk continues towards the Punta Arenas sign and the waters of the Strait of Magellan, preparing for the journey to Puerto Natales.

Laguna Blanca - This optional stop allows for birdwatching or a brief leg stretch.

Here, a lecture on how glaciers and paleo lakes shaped the Patagonian landscape enhances the understanding of the diverse scenery en route to Puerto Natales and Torres del Paine.

Puerto Natales - Puerto Natales offers a fantastic experience for travelers worldwide.

Visitors can observe Black-necked Swans and Chiloe Wigeons along the shores of Ultima Esperanza, with stunning mountains providing excellent photographic opportunities.

PUERTO NATALES TO TORRES DEL PAINE

Cueva del Milodon - A 30-minute drive from the hotel in Puerto Natales leads to a day in the Park, with a stop at the Milodon Cave.

This Natural Reserve is where remains of an ancient animal from the area’s megafauna were discovered.

In early spring, over 50 different flower species can be found. Bird enthusiasts may spot Siskins, Black-chested Buzzard Eagles, and many other fascinating species.

Cerro Castillo - A potential stop at Cerro Castillo offers a break near the Argentine border, though crossing is not planned.

The area features pampas, guanacos, sheep ranching, and on windy days, the chance to see condors soaring high.

Cascada del Rio Paine - Approaching the Park, the scenery remains breathtaking. The journey includes Guanacos Valley and the first view of the majestic three peaks that give the Park its name, with a stop at the Paine waterfall for photos.

Laguna Amarga - One of the Park’s entrance gates, where a brief stop is made to purchase entrance tickets, valid for three days if not staying in the Park.

Torres del Paine - Within the Park, the itinerary varies based on accommodation choices, with visits to different biotic provinces, enhancing birdwatching opportunities.

This tour includes daily excursions within the Park.

TORRES DEL PAINE

Torres del Paine - Visits around the Park are tailored to individual interests, with trails leading to scenic lookouts offering views of mountains, waterfalls, and wildlife.

Nordenskjöld Lake - A picturesque location for capturing stunning images of the mountains, named Paine by the area’s original inhabitants.

Grey Glacier - Multiple options are available to explore this area of Torres del Paine. The mountain views are spectacular, and birdwatching enthusiasts may enjoy a short walk towards Pingo. A boat trip to the Grey Glacier takes three hours, offering adventurers a chance to marvel at the ice’s stunning color and the breathtaking scenery.
