Truly breathtaking - Selvatura Park was one of the highlights of my trip. The hanging bridges were absolutely stunning, peaceful, surreal, and perfect for slowing down and taking it all in. The views, the mist, the feeling of walking above the trees… unforgettable. Highly recommend!

Life in the canopy - I joined a family on a tour of the flora and fauna visible from the hanging bridges. Our guide was very knowledgeable as he told the stories of the plants and animals he pointed out to us. I enjoyed asking questions. He was also sensitive to the group dynamics. For example, he accommodated my pace caused by bad knees. He recognized each person in the group. This is important because the opportunity to visit Selvatura is usually a one-off.

Great walk. - Great walk with the kids. Highly recommend. Not a bad drive to the park from the town. We did not have a guide. May be better with one.

Exceptional views - The Treetop Walkways tour was so much fun! The views from the walkways were exceptional, and we all felt very safe! The walkways are made of steel with concrete bases. We saw many monkeys, birds, and even a pit viper!

A Must Do Experience in Monteverde!!! - We’ve visited Selvatura Park multiple times and it never disappoints! On previous trips, we’ve done both the zip lining and hanging bridges—both incredible experiences. This time, we brought our five-year-old son to enjoy the hanging bridge tour and visit the sloth sanctuary, and it was absolutely magical. The habitat for the sloths is thoughtfully designed, and our guides were fantastic—so knowledgeable, kind, and passionate about the wildlife. The park is beautifully maintained, the activities are action-packed yet family-friendly, and the entire experience is a perfect way to explore the cloud forest. Selvatura is a must for anyone visiting Monteverde—we can’t recommend it enough and will absolutely be back again!

Peaceful, Magical, and Absolutely Worth It - This may have been the highlight of our entire trip to Monteverde. We arrived about half an hour before the first scheduled tour, and as a result, we got to start a little early—what a gift! For a while, it felt like we were the only people in the world. The hanging bridges gave us breathtaking views of the cloud forest, and the trails were well-maintained, safe, and clearly marked, yet still felt wild and remote. It was that perfect blend of feeling “off the beaten path” while still being totally secure. We’d highly recommend going early in the morning before the crowds. The quiet, the mist, the towering trees—pure magic.

Excellent, excellent tour and guide! - Touring with Marlon was one of the highlights of our trip! He was smooth, knowledgeable, and friendly. We couldn't have asked for more. We learned SO much, and got to experience so much of the beauty of the Cloud Forest on this tour. Please don't leave Monteverde without spending time with Marlon!!

Great time on the zip line! - We had a great time zip lining through the trees of Monteverde with Jorge and his team! The views were incredible and the cables were fun and fast! We really appreciated how safe and comfortable the crew made us feel and enjoyed talking with them along the way. Pick up from our hotel was easy and convenient, as was our ride back. We chose the Zip Line + Hanging Bridge package and would recommend going on the early side to avoid crowds and possible rain (rain seemed to come in the afternoons during our early June visit). It was a great way to spend ~half the day and enjoy the expansive views of Monteverde!

Beautiful Bridges, But Be Prepared for a Long Walk - We visited Selvatura Park in Monteverde and did the hanging bridges tour. While the bridges themselves were very cool and offered some amazing views of the cloud forest canopy, we found the overall experience to be longer and less exciting than we expected. The walk is quite lengthy, and although it’s beautiful, it can start to feel a bit repetitive—especially if you’re going without a guide. I think having a guide would’ve made it more engaging and informative, helping us appreciate more of what we were seeing. The hanging bridges are probably one of the must-see highlights in Monteverde, but just be prepared for what feels like a long hike through dense forest. Definitely wear comfortable shoes and don’t forget bug spray—we learned that the hard way! All in all, it’s a nice way to experience the cloud forest from above, but I’d recommend doing some research beforehand and maybe booking with a guide if you want a richer, more memorable experience.

Skip it. Not worth the $ if you can go to the Reserve - We knew going in that Selvatura appeared to be one of the most commercial enterprises in Monteverde, but since we were late in the day, it was recommended that we do this hanging bridge tour instead of going into the Reserve (because the Reserve closes at 4, and we only had one night here). It was expensive ($56), and not guided. The hanging bridges were beautiful and the walk in the jungle was also beautiful. But. 1. It was self-guided, but no guide was provided except a small picture. There were no signs or information on the tour about flora or fauna to look for, watch for, or notice. Even the tiny trail for $4 ea in Montezuma had wildlife and plant information signs… They did have expensive guides (I compared across several shops and locations in the country - the laminated guides were at least 15% higher in their gift shop than anywhere else). 2. It was billed as a 1.5 hr walk. We did it in 30-40 min. We also did it during a thunderstorm and I had to question whether it was a good idea to be on metal hanging bridges during a thunderstorm, but they certainly were not concerned about it, and ziplining tours were still going as well. Lovely facility. Too expensive for the experience.
