Fun and interesting cultural experience. - The experience was fun and interesting. I went with my son and his friend. We had Eduardo as our guide. He was friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of cacao within the Mayan culture. He also knew a lot about the local flora. The chocolate making was fun and so was the margaritas! We highly recommend this experience and will return .

Sweet surprise! - We had such a great time on the Mayan chocolate tour! We booked a private tour. It was even better than we expected — fun, informative, and the perfect length. Our tour guide, Eduardo, was the highlight of the experience. He was so kind, full of knowledge, genuinely funny, and you could tell he really cared about sharing the culture with us. No fluff — just straight to the point in the best way. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something on the shorter side, engaging, and delicious! 😊✨ You do have to take a taxi from the port and it was about a 20 minute ride. You are close to Paradise beach.

Great Tour, Highly recommend! - Recently participated in the Chocolate & Margarita workshop. Eduardo was our guide, and he was fantastic! Beautiful walk thru the jungle, met the McCaw's, learned history and culture of Mayans, learned about the Mayan numbering system. Eduardo was very friendly and fluent, full of great and interesting information. The room where the chocolate & margarita making takes place is very comfortable and air conditioned, set up well with individual stations to grind the chocolate and blend the margaritas (which were really more like chocolate milkshakes, perfect for a hot day). We loved every minutes of the tour, best excursion of our trip and very affordable. We were staying on the north end of the island, so it cost us $30 each way for a cab, but we felt it was well worth it, would definitely recommend and even do it again in the future. Very nice gift shop on site with free samples of different chocolate flavors. Loved the home made tortillas with mole sauce!!!!

Recommend informative and fun. - Awesome time at the Mayan Cacao Company and Barriecito tequila tour. Paty was very informative about the history and production of traditional Mayan chocolate. The tequila portion of the tour at Barriecito tequila was also very informative. You will definitely leave knowing how to pick a good tequila. The samples at both places were much appreciated.
