• Rethymnon - The journey to Rethymno city will take approximately 1 hour and 30-45 minutes.
• Rethymnon Old Town - Upon arrival at Rethymnon’s Old Town, guests will have the chance to explore the city’s most significant monuments with the guidance of our professional guides, who will provide detailed explanations throughout the tour. The remaining time is free for relaxation, exploration, and engaging with the locals.
• Chania Town - Following a drive of about 1 hour, the next destination is the Old Town of Chania. Here, a brief guided tour will highlight the city’s key monuments, including its Venetian walls and harbor, narrow streets, and historic buildings from the Venetian and Turkish eras, which remain largely intact, offering a glimpse into the past. The old harbor, where small fishing boats dock, is also a point of interest. After the guided tour, guests have free time to enjoy as they wish. The old harbor is highly recommended for enjoying a coffee while observing the vibrant city life. Additionally, visitors can explore the cross-shaped closed Marketplace and the leather Market Street.
• Lake Kournas - The final stop, after another 1-hour drive, is Lake Kournas, the only natural freshwater lake near Chania. Here, guests can enjoy lunch at a restaurant of their choice. For those interested, pedal boats are available for rent to tour the lake, or they can simply walk around and swim before returning to Heraklion.

This excursion leads to the western side and includes visits to the towns of Rethymno and Chania, as well as the Lake of Kournas. Traveling west along Crete’s northern axis, the tour will bring you to the beautiful town of Rethymno. A picturesque Cretan town, it is both distinctive and charming. There will be time to unwind amidst the stunning scenery at Rethymno’s old harbor.

The next stop, Chania, is the capital city of the Chania prefecture. Its Venetian walls and harbor, narrow streets, and old buildings from the Venetian and Ottoman periods remain largely intact, offering a journey back in time. Here, you can also explore the Cross-Shaped closed Market of the city and the Leather-Market street.

The final stop will be the Lake of Kournas, where you can enjoy lunch. For those interested, there is an opportunity to explore the lake by renting a pedal boat or simply walking around the lake and swimming before heading back to Heraklion.
